We chose the Flor Blanca for its closeness to the beach and had no complaints about that. But if you are looking for Spanish hospitality, go elsewhere, The proprietor was rude, both in his correspondence and in person. The room was tiny and had twin beds even though we booked a double room. The only furniture in the room was the 2 very narrow, very uncomfortable beds, 2 dining chairs and one small bedside table. The beds had plastic sheets under the cotton ones which made the beds even more uncomfortable. The tiny bathroom had a kind of a foot bath/shower with a shower head that had to be hand held, the bottom of the shower was perilously sloped and slippery and the shower curtain was only big enough to reach half way around. There was a tiny water heater in the bathroom that only held enough hot water for a very quick shower as long as you turned the water off while soaping. And that meant half an hour's wait for the next person. 
La Carihuela is a very nice place. Great restaurants, night life, great beach, close proximity to the Tivoli, the water park, crocodile park and so many other places. Definitely choose the beach, just make sure not to book the Flor Blanco.
Good points: Close to the beach and very clean.
Bad points; Everything else, especially the proprietor.

No shortage of good guest houses in La Carihuela. Choose on of the others.

Worst attitude from the staff I have ever experienced. I will never return. The custodian was rude and abrupt. I bent the key to the front door by accident and he began to shout at me. He repeatedly kept saying how I had opened the door wrong and would not listen to me. When I was finally permitted to have my say he claimed that he could not speak English very well!. I spoke to a few of the locals about him and they said he is always like this and they stay away from him.

Zero hospitality

As flight to Malaga was 10mins late i was shocked to get a phone call en route to hostal saying that if i wasnt at the property by midnight then there wouldnt be anyone there to let me in as the man on reception wanted to go to bed and that was that!!i had said 11pm when i booked and this was 11.10pm!!i arrived 5mins later and was given room 110 with no balcony and a view of the opposite flats which were arms length from the room..i had no choice as there was no other rooms available so had to take it even though a room with a sea view was booked,theres no air con and only a ceiling fan so the windows had to be left open as it was warm which allowed the flies in!!the bathroom was extremely small and even had difficulty turning round in the shower!!on the plus side it was extremely clean and the bed was okay which was a bonus..no contact or appearance by the man from check in and key was to be left in box at desk when checking out..no left luggage..i had always wanted to stay here after spotting it on previous trips but it was a disappointment..im easily pleased and dont look for much but i wont be booking here again.x

Short break and glad thats all it was

Seems we had similar problem to Bevanchez. We booked a room with a balcony but was put into a room with no balcony. Had to wait 3 days to move to new room. Whereas the rooms were clean and basic there is a lot of work to be done to make the place smarter. Peeling paint on the doors, rusty railings on the balcony. The manager didn't seem to be there too often. No facility to leave cases past noon on day of departure. WiFi a bit flaky.

Please Improve this property

We have stayed in Torremolinos on a number of occasions in a variety of accommodations from 5 star to 1 star but can honestly say the location of the Flor Blanco is probably one of the best located accommodations we have ever stayed in.

We arrived at the Pension at 1.30 pm and was greeted by the owner who appeared extremely friendly and accommodating. Following a short check in process we were taken to room 201, which was situated on the first floor overlooking La Carihuela beach with many bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.  

On reading previous Trip Advisor reviews I was expecting the accommodation to be dark and gloomy how wrong could I be, our room was bright and airy with a very large balcony and table and chairs.  The bathroom and bedroom were quite small but immaculately clean, with fresh towels provided every day. 

Just a short walk up the hill, around the corner from the Pension you will find yourself in the centre of Torremolinos where you can catch the M320 bus direct to Marbella or a train to Fuengirola or Benalmedena. 

Due to the location of the Pension, it might not suit anyone looking for peace and tranquility, but hey ho its swings and roundabouts if you're looking to stay in the middle of the action with an amazing sea view this is the place to be. 

We will definitely book this accommodation again in the very near future.
