Perfect location.Spotlessly clean. €40 a night.Do not expect 5 star then you won't be disappointed and you won't feel the need to write a bad review.Huge room.Large ensuite. Big shower cubicle.Piping hot water.Comfortable bed.Safe and secure. I was perfectly happy.

I've been staying at Hostal Rincon for 15 years. It has literally been home from home. My last stay was 6 months while I bought a flat locally and had a major refurb.

So I was stunned and amazed when I called in the other day to see a complete refurb of the entrance and reception. Very smart. Contemporary cool grey and red. Gone are the old face to face library desks. In come comfortable armchairs. Well done Jorge!

Refurb!

We have spent there 5 nights and we got what we expected. We were on a budget and I think this place is the cheapest in town. They sent me the details in a mail one day before our arrival; room number and door code. The accommodation itself is humble, but clean and safe. The cleaning staff came each day. 
The location of the place is excellent, there are many shops around, also the main market is 5 minutes away where you can start your day with orxata and fartons. 
If you stay here you don’t need to use public transportation if you want to visit the main attractions.
The street in the night can be noisy because of all the pubs around but it’s not that bad.


5 days at Pension El Rincon

We have stayed here for 3 days. The apartmant is in the city center (you can reach each monument and destination going on foot), the room was very clean, the host is very profesionall...all recommendations for this place :)

The place with Spanish soul

Stayed here for one night. Arrived 9pm, hotel had already text us with room entry details but staff were still on duty. Room was clean, plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Would stay here again.

Cheap budget stay

I stayed here for a few days in VLC and this review is based on the fact it is a budget hotel. It does not provide 5* luxury if that is what you want this is not the place for you. 

It is comfortable 
It is clean
It has air conditioning
It is central location

It is perfect for low cost but comfortable travel. 

Note: there is no lift so be aware if mobility is problematic. 

Travel from the airport: It is very simple journey from the airport. 

1. Take the metro into the city. 

2. Leave the metro at station Angel Guimerà. 

3. As you leave the station have the Angel Garage/Car Park begins you. And take the right hand footpath (you leave the Metro in a central island). 

4. Walk along the road and take your first right hand turn. There is a bank and express supermarket at the junction. 

5. Walk to the end of the road. This is a main toad and turn left. 

6. Walk along this road until you come to the large castle like turrets (Torres des Quarts). 

7. When you arrive here take the right hand turn immediately before the turrets into Carrer  Murillo. 

8. Walk down here and the hotel is on your right. 

Walking time - 10 to 15 minutes. 

Good value 

This place is the dream for budget travelling! It’s so cheap, and yet the location literally at the centre of the old town is unbeatable. The rooms were very clean, spacious and there was WiFi and air con.

Refused a refund for my pre-paid booking one week ahead on jul 25th as my Valencia flight with Ryanair was cancelled due to a cabin crew strike. What a lousy way to treat a potential customer. I will never be in touch with this place again.

Room 217,  February 8-10.  First of all, this is a hostel, not a 3 or 4 star hotel.  I have stayed in many hostels, and this was not the worst by far.  It was old, but clean.  The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of heat.  We had requested a room with two beds, but this one actually had two singles and a double.  There were lots of plugs, but no reading lights, just one very bright overhead light. The area looks dodgy, but actually felt pretty safe, even returning after midnight.  It is very centrally located, and there is a bus (150) about 5 minutes away that will take you directly to the airport in about 45 minutes for €1.50 (€1 if over 65).  No lift, but the stairs were wide and not too bad to climb.  About a 6 minute walk to the beautiful Mercado Central, and not much further to Plaza de la Reina, and the Cathedral.  Lots of good tapas places nearby.  

Although I had adequate hot water for my shower, the next day my friend never could get it hot.  We had a large en-suite bathroom. The hostel did not seem very full, so I can't comment much on the noise outside our door, but there was some noise from above.  There are some vending machines in the lobby, and the coffee machine coffee wasn't bad, but no breakfast.  Not really a problem, being so close Calle Maria Cristina which has loads of shops and restaurants, and will take you eventually to southern edges of the old town.  A lovely walking street.  

The staff were helpful, but didn't seem too happy to be there.  You are given a pass code to come in late at night, and it worked without a problem.  

I recommend this hostel for its location, excellent price, and overall cleanliness and comfort.   I would rank it a 1-2 star hotel.

Basic hostel/hotel room, clean, and cheap.  Good location.

Stayed 4 nights with son, basic room with en-suite. Although basic met needs and was very cheap room only.
Reception friendly and helpful.
Close to restaurants, bars and transport links. Located close to Market.
