We stayed 4 days in this hotel and I can tell you that our room was very clean and comfortable, as far as the food was concerned, we did not have dinner or eat, but as far as the breakfast was concerned everything was very homemade and super good, we should have had dinner even if it was once to taste their food but it always plundered us away, the treat magnificent and you can always guide you to any places to visit, we will surely repeat it.

Excellent hotel 

Nothing but crossing the threshold of entry, we notice that this gift of taste for things will accompany us to every corner we want to discover, and that is precisely what we will find at every point in which we look: happiness and harmony one after the other. Tranquility is breathed both inside and outside, the garden (composing terraces) inspires a peace forgotten already in other rural hotels. All this results in another qualitative aspect: the quality of sleep and rest. The kitchen, of short but good card, incorporates the specialties of the area such as morelo, the conquero ajoero.... A small but also good selection of wines will make our appetites even more satisfying. The breakfast will be provided in the right quantity, and I'm more than disappointed, because I'm sure that I can make sure that I don't leave the area without visiting the most important of my contemporaries, as I'd like to make sure that I don't have any other reason to leave the area without visiting.

Quality and know-how for all four sides.

Spacious and comfortable accommodation, plenty of tranquility and silence that makes your rest more effective. Friendly and professional service. We had a little dinner, embroidery, cheese, croquettes and everything was very rich. Experience to repeat. Good value for money.

 TRANQUILITY

A charming little hotel to really disconnect from everything. There is no coverage for most companies. The village where it is located is really small and access can present some difficulties for large vehicles. It is accessed by a paved rural road but has some bumps. No suitable for impatients. The breakfast and bed are really good.

 Real disconnection

Everything was as expected, with no problems, but they also learned to adapt to the specific needs that were arising without any problems, thanks, commendable and a place to hear the silence, we will return whenever we want to recharge batteries, pass through, take cultural excursions, without renouncing comfort, gastronomy and good service.

Service and care are impeccable.

We only spent one night, but enough to recommend it as a weekend getaway for couples looking to unplug and make some route through nature (the only access road through the valley is spectacular). The facilities are spacious and clean and very well maintained. Dinner is rich and abundant and breakfast is right. The treatment is discreet and the overall feel is quite pleasant. Certainly there is no 3G coverage in the village and it is small, but it has possibilities and if you want to forget everything and everyone, it is the best way to do it.

Relax and disconnect.

The hotel is an old palace. very tastefully adapted. Carlos, the owner, very attentive to everything. The dinner in the spectacular restaurant. I ran with my children and put us 4 in an impressive suite. I only have cover Movistar and before going to ask Carlos how to get by the country road.

I'll be back safely.

I wish I could leave a good review on this place but we had some serious issues.

As other reviewers have commented, the location is very difficult to locate and sat nav does take you on a very protracted route. Ignore your sat nav if coming from Cuenca and exit on 294 of the E40 and double back under the bridge, it will save you at least 15miles.

The property is in a very isolated position at least 6 miles from any main road. There is no phone signal and very poor WiFi with no shops bars or restaurants that would prevent one from being ‘extremely’ captivated.

An older gentleman with no spoken English who makes no help with any broken Spanish, will be your host check in staff, waiting staff and basically be the only person you have any contact with.

There is no tourist information available in English and no assistance offered either. To be fair the old gentleman did help with my choice of wine on both nights which were good and but ensuring his effort was rewarded as they were at the higher end of the scale.

Now my main issue.... The restaurant seems to cater only for hotel guests. But I’m assuming nobody else would wander that far off grid otherwise.

It has a very restricted menu of about 5 starters and 5 mains all of which are on the expensive side for the region. We went down to the dining room at 8.45pm on our first night and  dined almost entirely alone until some other guests arrived at about 10pm. On the second night we went down at 9.35 and were joined by 2 other guests at 10.20pm.

Much more important though is the food. We had a reasonable meal on our first night although it would be hard to find some lamb cutlets with less meat on them anywhere, but what I had was fine.

On our second night however it was a total shambles and resembled faulty towers on a bad night. I ordered the steak dish my wife had the night before which is sirloin cut into pieces and arranged on a filo parcel of mushrooms and topped with a cold foie gras pate, which is the signature dish of the place. Unlike our first night my steak came down way over cooked and served at a very low/cool temperature which was exactly the same as my wife’s Iberian pork and accompanying patatas fritas.

I remonstrated and was initially dismissed until the man condescended to replace mine, cook my wife’s remaining meat even further and refry our patatas fritas..!!!

I must admit, that regrettably my wife talked me into not leaving the restaurant and going to bed, but instead insisted that I try and resolve the matter with the man despite his further deteriorated understanding of any English that may include an element of criticism.

The night did not improve and he started to communicate with Android translated English. I told him that I did not want the replacement dish being offered and that he Re cooked pork was unacceptable, and that I wanted the matter dealt with properly and in a decent manner.

On checking out this morning he had obviously practiced and learned how to say “I’m sorry you didn’t like your dinner” and then proceeded to charge for every single item including 1euro for the bread that had accompanied our starter.

Needless to say we left very unhappy with the situation and will certainly not be returning...  Be Careful..........!!
 

Be Very Careful.....

Excellent accommodations, serene, quiet with wonderful service and great breakfast.  Check your GPS for directions, Garmin and Google don't agree on "best route".  Not super close to Cuenca, but glad we stayed and would go back

Beautiful home in the countryside

excellent rural house, refurbished in stone and wood. located in a tiny town 30 min away from Cuenca. The suite is stunning, very big, great terrace and excellent bathroom, which is perfect for a couple. Not (nothing) much to see in the town, so the ideal weekend plan is to visit Cuenca and/or Ciudad Encantada during the day, come back to the house for dinner (very good food quality) and go to the room to take a nice bath in the bubble bath (candles provided).

Unique rural stay just 30 min from Cuenca (the suite is a must see), excellent for a couple retreat
