In principle and very important to me there is no coverage of wifi or data. secondly, the food is not bad, but only a vegetarian menu (salad, soup and rice for dinner) is offered (11 euros and in addition with rushes, they wanted to serve it to everyone at 6:30 pm. the breakfast (6 euros) bad, better breakfast in some bar. the private room for three but the shower is in the public eye. no repeat.

No coverage and expensive for what it offers.

We had one of the best dinners here. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The hammocks were a nice touch and great to nap in after a long day of walking. This was my second time here and first time with the new owners. It did not disappoint!

Favourite Albergue

The building is really beautiful with lot of charme. I liked the fact that the dorms are very small and comfortable. The bathroom looks pretty new and there is a nice little outdoor area with garden and hammocks. I liked the dinner very much - it was really standing out from others I had before on the camino!

If you are looking for big groups and huge noisy dorms other places might be better for you. If you like to share your experience with other pilgrims and the hosts in a nice small cosy place this is your place to stay in Villatuerta.

The nice family currently running the place hiked the camino themselves, provided nice refreshing water melon for tired hiker on arrival and really want you to feel welcome. I have travelled quite a bit and did not have the feeling that it’s a commercial trap like written below. Furthermore there are still few potential options like take-away breakfast for early starters. 

I liked the place, would stay there again and was very happy about my experience.

Lovely place with heartwarming people

When you first enter the albergue, you feel at peace.  After a long days walk, the staff welcomes you warmly. The accomodations were nice and food was excellent.  The swimming pool is welcome after a long day and the hammocks became our spot to relax.

Truly magical Camino stop

A pity this place seems to be for sale. It's a great place. Lots of atmosphere. And a very helpful staff. Swimming pool in the yard, hammocks in a seperate room and lots of room to relax. Great food, and a nice massage. Well, this really was a time to relax for tires pilgrims.

Magic!

We stayed in this hostel for a step on the camino de Santiago with our two children in July 2018. We were received very warmly and with a lot of attention! In this hostel we are going from surprise to surprise. And what a joy for the children to find a swimming pool they were angels! The place is very quiet to rest before going back on the road. The terrace is very nice and the children enjoyed the hammocks very much. The bedrooms are all separated into different rooms and we were all four staying in a dormitory for ourselves only. The meal was excellent... the paella a delight! The best time we had on the camino!!! Thank you for your hospitality we had a very pleasant time at your house.

What a wonderful discovery.

I’m so glad I stopped at this incredibly special albergue. The house is 400 years ago and been converted into an albergue. 
With a pool, laundry, spacious rooms and incredible attention to detail. 
They offer massages and healing treatments. 
Very peaceful and tranquil place to stay. 

I’m very excited about tonight’s Paella. 


It certainly is magic

A very well-maintained hotel, derived from a beautifully restored old house. The environment is very relaxing and welcoming and at the disposal of the pilgrim, in addition to all the amenities, there is a beautiful terrace with stables.

An old house turned into a cozy pilgrim's hotel

A very nice hotel, a little more expensive than its neighbors, but with impeccable facilities and service. In addition to the usual facilities (washing machine, showers...), you will find a (small) pool and a mediation room.

It's a beautiful setting.

On the Camino Stage from Puente la Reina to Estella is this little gem. It allows you to relax wonderfully after the pains of running. In the evening you have delicious vegetarian paella, which is a pleasant variation on the classic meat-packed pilgrimage menu. And the massages are simply the best!!!!
