Stayed with Hansa and Sita for 5 days, they are really lovely people who want to make you feel at home. We did not know where to stay and we met Hansa on the platform in Colombo, not once we regreted our choice. The hotel is located right in front of the beach which is empty most of the time. Sita cooks delicious food and the bedrooms are comfortable. Recommended 100%

Feeling at home

We wanted to stay only 2 nights, at the end we stayed almost all of the 2 weeks we had to spend! The Owner Hansa and his wife a such lovely people, with a lot of humor and service! They cared so much about us, we felt like family! The place is noch 5stars-resort but for simple travelling very nice! Direct beach acces and nice beach! 5 minutes to Hikkaduwa by bus but very quite! The dogs take care and the fisherman were spottet directly in front of the place.
We really enjoyed our stay there not at least because of the food! Seethas Currys are the best on the island and we tried some others!;)

Also met Hansa at the railway station and decided to check out his hotel. Beautiful, beachside location away from the tourist craziness but conveniently close to towns and things to do. Hansa went out of his way to accommodate me and make it a very enjoyable stay.

Excellent Experience...

Our holiday
We met Hansa - an elderly man – at Colombo’s train station and had a talk. He directly gave us information and tips. Hansa told us he, for more than 30 years, organises tours around Sri Lanka. He showed us reviews en pictures of his other guests.
Hansa and his wive Sita run a little guesthouse out of Ambalangoda. We agreed to go with him and do a 1-day tour. This was a good experience and therefore we booked an addtional 8-day trip based on our plans. It included transportation, fuel, guiding (Hansa himself), guesthouses with breakfast and hot water and air-conditioning. Excluding entrance fees.

Personality
Reliable, easy going, friendly, not pushy nor overly present. Hansa is an enjoyable man to travel around with. In addition he listens to what we say is important to us.

Transport / Driver
Hansa drove us around in a white Nissan Bluebird LeGrand, which is a fine car with adequate space in the back. Also air-conditioning was available.
He is a driver who pays attention en doesn’t take any risks. Contrary to some other drivers we have seen in Sri Lanka.

Guiding
Hansa’s English is pretty good. He knows and tells a lot about the places we visited. He can especially tell you about boeddhisme, which was interesting. 
You can ask anything and he will answer.

Hotels / Guesthouses
Most of the small hotels and guesthouses Hansa brought us to were satisfactory. Some were better than others. Make sure right then and there if you actually have hot water and if the matrasses are comfortable enough. If a room doesn’t suit you be assertive and Hansa will bring you somewhere else.

Price / Money
We feel the price we’ve paid for our trip was worth it. We got a fully customized trip based on our needs and wants. All tours we took were very private. For instance during the mangrove boat trip and national park safari we had our own boat/jeep.

We did an initial deposit. Afterwards we paid Hansa on a daily basis. Hansa is very keen on writing all payments down on the agreement (piece of paper with the agreed itinerary).

Very good experience

Sita and Hansa welcomed us with outstanding warmth. Offering an interesting local experience in this adequate lodging by the sea and near Ambalangoda. If you are looking for an accommodation out of the flashy and full-of-tourists Hikaduwa, this nice couple will provide you with a nice experience.
