Came here as part of an Intrepid tour. The views are excellent over the valley with rolling mist views from my basic room. The room itself was clean but rudimentary in standards. The bed was comfortable and included a warm blanket. No bedside table, tv not an option as the plug did not connect, bathroom basic with no ventilation so mould present on the low ceiling. No glass provided for me to use while cleaning my teeth, water pressure minimal and lukewarm water. Only one worn towel provided. Lighting throughout the room dim, no ambient options and only one electrical plug provided. 
My room overlooked a large paved balcony which provided panoramic views but staff regularly walked through to a service room adjoining my room which did not give me much privacy. With the curtains open male staff could see me lying in bed ect. So had to keep curtains closed most of the time. 
Wifi was sometimes weak. 
I was disturbed by the noise of either dog fights during the night. The nearby kitchen also active early in the morning. 
Layout of the hotel was odd, my room right next to the reception. 
The food was basic but edible. But service was slow. Only one staff working at breakfast. 
No fly screen on any open windows, so made sure to wear insect repellent at all times. 
Dining room toilet had no hand towel or toilet paper. 
The fixtures and fittings are worn and need a freshen up, dark wooden furniture scratched and showing age.
But the views are exceptional which was a highlight of my stay. 
I do not wish to stay at the hotel again. But reading the other reviews, I noted that options go both ways.

Stunning views

I had a very good night in this hotel where I felt completely safe. 
Mohamed Ali, one of the employees, a lifelong resident of the village and knowing everyone, showed me around Haputhale. He helped me find a scooter to go see the Lipton seat the next day. He was a pleasant and respectful presence without being oppressive. 
All the hotel staff were very attentive and accommodating to me. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are comfortable. The location is perfect. 
I highly recommend this establishment to any tourist wanting an authentic experience in the city!

Welcoming hotel in Haputhale !

Great views over tea plantations. Lovely grassed courtyard with swing and nice big four poster bed. Room was spacious. Had a large rock feature in room. Two huge cockroaches ran around in room. Good storage for luggage. Had trekked 10 kilometres through tea plantation and mountains to arrive here. Also lovely wooden table and chairs feature on grass courtyard. Reason I gave 4/5 was no bathroom ventilation and cockroaches.

Fabulous views over Plantations

A very nice place to stay in Haputale the staff were friendly and helpful. We were a group of 4 in 2 rooms. The breakfast was plentiful and on our last night we pre,-ordered Biryani with chicken, it was superb. The view from the hotel was good but marred by the misty haze. It was reasonably priced with clean en-suite rooms all of which had good views.

A great place to stAyy

Last Thursday, my family and I lodged at Srilak View Holiday Inn. The hotel is easily accessible from Haputale railway station. The scenic panorama from the hotel is breathtaking. The room was equipped with all the essentials for a family, and the provided amenities were satisfactory. The meals served were of exceptional quality. The commendable hospitality exhibited by the hotel staff deserves recognition. It offers excellent value for money, and I strongly recommend it to families.

Great accommodation choice in Haputale.

Ok, essentially the room and bed was clean and comfortable. Which I suppose is the most important thing…but the rooms definitely need updating. Firstly the plug sockets (of which there was two I could use) were situated in really odd positions. 

There was also a tiny television situated high up on the wall, but the plug had absolutely no chance of reaching the socket! After using some ingenuity, I managed to plug the tv in and get it working. But there was no remote control, so I had to climb up on the table and manually tune the tv. For all my efforts I was rewarded with one analogue channel in Tamil, and the reception was pretty ropey. Still, at least it kept me busy for a bit! 

There’s no wifi in the rooms, so after sitting in reception for a while I opted for an early night after dinner. Speaking of dinner; the food wasn’t too bad. But prior to having dinner I ordered a hot chocolate, which took around 45 minutes to arrive - just in time for dinner! 

Because it was quite chilly the night we were there I requested an extra blanket - which was lovely and very much needed.

There’s a switch for the shower in the bedroom, and the water was a good temperature in the evening, but cold in the morning. Perhaps I should have left the switch on overnight..? The bathroom/wet room was a bit grim, but it was functional.

I really liked the location of the hotel, you’re just around the corner from shops and the train station. 

Despite my whining I actually would stay here again! The issues I encountered were relatively minor, but resolving those would make this an excellent hotel.

Pros and cons…

We were a group of 6 and came with the train from Kandy. We had not booked a hotel and arrived late at the train station. We were so happy that Ali waited there presenting the hotel. We followed him and they all welcomed us so nicely, showed us the rooms before and took care of us really good. We had a really nice dinner and evening with Ali and the hotel owner - met some other guests and had a view drinks together. It was really funny. The rooms are good for the offered price - unfortunately no wifi in the rooms we stayed (only in the main house). They also organized us a driver for a tour to the tea factory and he brought us to our next place. Really recommend this hotel if you stop in Haputale for 1 or 2 nights.

The owner works together with this taxi driver and offers highes prices. Don´t change your money there and don´t pay more than 12 Euro/night

Breathtaking views from our bedroom. Excellent breakfast but a little slow on the service and a bit quiet for dinner which led to little atmosphere but fine for a night or two. 
Decor was very dated but nothing to worry about for a short stay. Nice to have a mosquito net and the bed was very comfortable. 

Also my partner said the coffee was nice :) 

A great stop over place. The photos don't do it any justice.

Outstanding Views

Room was fine and pretty clean, bathroom had hot water and the view from the room was amazing. 

Very limited interaction with anyone working as nobody ever seemed to be around. Felt quite expensive for what you got, definitely not bang for your buck.
