The view from the room and balcony is absolutely stunning, we enjoyed our stay with this family they were really sweet and genuine. The breakfast was delicious and they are very helpful. Thank you for the pleasant stay!

Stunning views and lovely family

The rooms upstairs have a great view on a large grass field that's amazing.
The room is spacious enough and have all comforts.
The dinner and breakfast have been truly amazing. Best Sri Lanka food in all guest houses we met during our trip.
The owner does not speak very good English, but he compensates with smiles and good attitude.
Definitely recommended.

This hotel have big nic clean room with balcony , the view was very nic, breakfast was to much:-)more foods or fruits fresh juice, mix srilankan and europen breakfast.good clima,good wifi,hot water,good price very good quality.the host was perfec..thank you for this nice holiday in your hotel

Amazing place

We enjoyed our four days here, taking in the view of the expansive rice paddies (and stunning peacocks strolling there) and grateful for the Sri Lankan cooking.  Keep in mind that just the two second-floor rooms have views; the two downstairs look out onto a cement block wall.  The host was very helpful and knowledgable in orienting us and arranging for a mild-mannered tuk-tuk driver after we had a ride with a man who's mission was to pass every single vehicle.  Located on a quiet street, far from traffic, noise, and dust. Bug spray your legs if dining at the outdoor tables in the evening.

The top-floor rooms are stunning and the meals gracious

Spend 2 nights in this welcoming homestay. Pim the owner truly cares that you are comfortable. We had the BEST dinner in Sri Lanka cooked in their home - we highly recommend it.
We rented a tuktuk and arrived at night. Pim actually got up, took us with him to the gas station to make sure we find our way and pointed us to a nearby restaurant.
What might be lacking in English is well compensated by a great nature, smiles and kindness. Thank you.

One of our favorites

This review is well overdue, husband's health reasons. We stayed here near end of July. By now they may have finished creating the 2 new rooms to the rear of the property which overlook rice fields. My husband, who also reviewed this nice place as soon as we left it, saw these 2 rooms & they already were looking fabulous :. as was the hospitality of this family, so friendly & happy to help if we needed it. They offered evening meals as well, the food was scrumptious. I almost wish we had a reason to explore Anuradhapura again, because I would jump at the chance of staying here again. So unlike the next homestay we were at in Negombo, where you can see that the proprietor lied blatantly in his reply, stating that I made abusive phonecalls to him. 
As for Sunshine Tourist Resort, it also happened to be the cheapest place we stayed in Sri Lanka, if not the best, certainly the best Homestay.  It is in the backstreets a bit off the main road, but a decent area & a tuk-tuk or bike will get you around.

A Really Lovely Homestay.

They have newly built two rooms facing paddy field with all facilities and it’s really worth for money. Located 3km away from town and it will take only 15 minutes from a taxi ( 3 Wheel) to town. We had only simple local breakfast. Since this is a small family run hotel, refilling dishes will take some time. 

 Good Environment

We have recently travelled around Sri Lanka and this was our first stop having travelled by third class (which was all we could get) on the train from Colombo up to Anuradhapura- an experience in itself!!! We stayed three nights so that we could have a good look at the sights. We found this Guest House very comfortable and the owner very hospitable and the breakfasts and dinners cooked by his daughter delicious. A little out of the way but Tuk Tuks easily available to take us where we wanted to go. Having the air conditioning was a relief as it was very hot for us having come from a New Zealand winter. Bench mark for my husband and I is always would be stay again - yes definitely.
