At the Arugam Bay Ocean Beach hotel you get good value for money. It is located very near to the beach (50 mtr) in a small side street at the beginning of the main street with all of the restaurants and shops. There are rooms with and without airconditioning. It is clean and the beds are good. The breakfast is also very good. Unfortunately the wifi-signal can be very weak. Ask the owner, he can give you the code of another router which may be better.

We stayed here for two nights- it is in a great location.
The rooms are pretty basic but comfy.
We visited Aragum bay in February and it is dead- not much going on- FYI! 
The breakfast was delicious and the manager was delightful.
It is very good for the price.

Clean, basic and great location

I was originally only staying 4 nights but booked an extra 3 in the end. The rooms are a very good size and the bathroom as well. The bathroom has a great shower (good pressure and heat). They provided beach towels as well as bath towels, and drying rack. The rooms have built in power adapters for all types which was great! Andrew (the owner) and his staff (especially Ajay) are awesome! So friendly, welcoming and helpful. There's an upstairs lounge area for guests with a great view of the beach. It's a 1 minute walk from the beach. Though the resort sits at one end of the bay, it only takes about 20 mins to walk to the other end, and there are so many shops/restaurants to explore along the way. Also, Andrew and his team do a great job with starting /maintaining a cleaning project for Arugam bay. Keep up the good work!

Great place to stay!

Great spot.  good breakfast,  good coffee. Not far as t all from the sea.  We had a problem with the air con but the staff were excellent at sorting it out.  

The owner is a very nice chap and he has a good natured and unobtrusive dog.  We enjoyed our stay here. The staff are helpful amd honest.
