Amazing resort! Highly recommended,  Miki is a fantastic host and all of his crew are great warming people! The rooms were great and the view is unbelievable. In the back of the resort you can see the sunsets near to the laguna. This is a magical place and I belive anyone can come and relax there :)

Miki and his team are incredible hosts, in a beautiful place, which made for an prefect getaway. We joined on a surf package, and cannot recommend it highly enough: Tuk Tuk'd with a talented iinstructor (the amazing Krish) to the best waves to suit our ability each day, passing elephants on the way... WOW!

The location, the beautiful food, the lovely people, the ambiance, the fantastic lessons and how Miki just takes care of everything is amazing. There's communal space to hang out, and private space too. Being 5 minutes walk away from the main strip means things are close by should you want to go somewhere but it's really tranquil too. 

If you stay here you'll fall in love with it too, fo' sho'.

Our time at Elephant Road was incredible. The staff are extremely helpful, setting us up with the best surf instructor in Arugam Bay (Krish) and the friendliest transport contact (Kareem). We used these guys for our whole stay in Arugam Bay and couldn’t be happier.

Dilshan is the chef and assistant manager of the property and he was so helpful. Also his Shakshuka is the best meal you’ll have in Arugam Bay, except for his hummus which is even better!

Couldn’t recommend staying here more, it was the best way to start our trip.

Amazing, helpful accomodation

Stayed 3 nights and were made very welcome by Miki and his team. 
Great breakfasts freshly cooked. Comfortable beds ( rooms have A/C and fans). Liked hammocks and swing bed outside for relaxing. Miki was helpful in setting us up with surf lessons. Location is nice, you can easily walk (10-15 mins) to restaurants/ beach or get a short Tuktuk ride. Quiet location. 
The bathrooms could do with a bit of a makeover though 

Chilled stay with helpful staff

The best place to stay in Arugam Bay, best vibes, very peaceful and surrounding by nature. 5 mins from main road. Great delicious fresh food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated, lots of space in and outdoor, common and private areas to chill. for sure I'll be visiting here again, Highly Recommended! Definitely favourite.

Favourite place in Sri Lanka

After a long stressful ride, we came to Elephant Road and was given the warmest welcome from Miki himself! To start it off, the property itself is surrounded by lush nature, away from the hustle and bustle of Arugumbay main road! 

The rooms were more than what we could ask for! Super amazing comfortable beds and not to mention our favorite part about the room was the bed swing outside!! After a long day of exploring the east, it was always our favorite to spend the sunset on that swing! 

The staff were all super friendly! But Miki is a great host and such a kind soul! Also a really good surfer 🏄🏽‍♂️ 

We loved our days there and are dying to be back!! 

The perfect getaway!

Thank you to Miki and his team for a wonderful 10 days stay in Arugam Bay. This was my first solo trip and I couldn't have felt more at home and comfortable than I did staying at Elephant Road Resort. Miki was very helpful; assisting me with getting my bearings around the village and immediately arranging my surf lessons (with the wonderful Krish and his team of surf instructors) and yoga classes upon my arrival. I surfed twice and day and made it onto a 7'2 hardboard! Whoop!

The house has a beautiful and calm energy and everyone I met there during my stay was absolutely lovely.

A beautiful, warm and homely stay in Arugam Bay

My name is Dana Margolin I’m a surf instructor:) in 2015 Sri Lanka became my home and I’ve been visiting there every year since. 
Last June I’ve visited arugambay for the first time, visiting usually the other side of the island . This time I’ve stayed at the elephant road resort and it was just magical!! So difernet from the typical guesthouses. The owner Miki is just a legend!! beautiful humen who makes you relax and feel at home from the moment you lend and till you go back home. The food is just sooo goood with miki’s knowledge of traditional Israeli cooking and Dilshad the 👨‍🍳’s amazing hands you get all the love you need to nurture your body and sole🙌🏻 .The place settings is just so epic. You crosse a small river on a nice wooden bridge, and in the ather side you have the jungle: monkeys, elephant and more. It felt like being in a different space. as a surfer and a person how likes his peace and quiet and feeling safe this place was by far the best one!!! I highly recommend!!!

Perfect accommodation in the jungle, far away from the noise of the village, focused on surfing, relaxed and easy-going atmosphere, and outstanding food from its chef. I definitely recommend this unique and magical location. Just excellent!
