TBH we never stayed. We checked in and we're taken to our room which was full of flies. 
There was no mattress cover on the mattress and the mattress was stained.
There was one sheet on the bed with no sheet to go on top of you!
Furniture was old and broken.
The whole place was dirty and unkempt. 
The proprietor however, was pleasant and friendly and gave us a ride into town.
We made our apologies and left, knowing I'll be charged by Booking.com !! 

AWFUL 

Basic hotel with lowest rate. if you look for tranquility yes its good.  The staff is friendly and caring. there is a motor bike for you to access to city if necessary.

Being  away from city, you have to collect your needs on the way
 poor design of  toilets,less hygienic rooms.  
shallow pool is ideal for family but less area for recreation

I stayed in this hotel two nights ago with two other female companions on a ground floor corner room. It seemed like a family orientated hotel with quite basic facilities. In the evening, I went for a shower and when I switched the water off I noticed there was a smart phone being held up to the ajar bathroom window and it was recording me, but who knows for how long. I was horrified! I screamed and went to shut the window, which did not shut but simply flipped back to the same position it had been in. At this point, the person holding the phone, ran away quickly. I got dressed in the room with my friend, too afraid to go back into the bathroom and we went to the night manager and complained. He took a torch and went out back and obviously there was no one there. The matter was left at that. The next morning, we again complained to the day manager about the situation hoping to speak to the owner or for there to be some action taken about this. Unfortunately he firmly refused to believe it had been any of his staff or that it had happened at all, suggesting that it may have been a cat that I had seen, and not a black smart phone firmly held at the window. He stood with arms crossed, shaking his head and saying that his staff wouldn't do that. I beleived it had to be the staff as someone had heard the hot water go on late at night and known to come to the small window with the phone. I think it has happened before because from seeing the back of the window, there is only a small pipe to stand on which would make it quite awkward to hold the phone to the window so this person must have tried this before. I was given absolutely no apology and instead made to feel bad for bringing it up at all. The day manager refused to call the owner of the hotel saying he was on leave and he didn't want to disturb him and this wasn't a big enough issue to disturb him with. There is clearly a security issue at this hotel, whether it is staff or randoms outside the hotel, they need to address it and are not willing to. Customer service is also absolutely non existent. A simple apology would have gone a long way in this situation and some action like promising to fix the broken bathroom window or even pretending to care about the situation would have helped me deal with it. I absolutely would discourage any female traveler from staying here as you will not be taken seriously if anything was to happen to you and clearly there is every chance that it might. I'll be making sure everyone I know hears about this and how poorly I was treated at that hotel. I have not ruled out going to the police about this in the hope that that will make the hotel consider this a serious issue.

Female Travelers Beware!!!

The hotel is tucked out of the way on the peninsula portion of the city. This meant that tuktuks were necessary to go anywhere. We were able to walk to the beach but the wind was very strong and the waves were extremely high. We requested an upper floor room and were glad that we did. We were at the far end of the hotel above the kitchen. We had a spacious room which was clean but the bathroom had a rather unpleasant odour when we arrived. The bed was comfortable and there was a mosquito net. There was a fan and air conditioning. The tv only had Sri Lanka channels. There was a good hot water shower. We had a large balcony seating area with chairs and a table. It was very pleasant and so we spent a fair amount of time sitting out there. There was room service and so we had breakfast every morning and a dinner on our balcony. All meals were very good. The dining area looked as if the roof might cave in so we chose not to eat there. The grounds were quite big and had scattered benches to sit on and were landscaped however no one seems to be taking care of them and so they are falling into disrepair. Once upon a time it must have been very nice. There is a large pool and a hot tub but it wasn't working. The pool area also needs some care. While we were there there was a party at the pool area with live music that was very loud and went on until about 11:00 pm. The next day there was an all day meeting of businessmen who were doing team building activities in the courtyard. There was also a group of men who spent the afternoon drinking around the pool and got noisy. We only met one staff, Raj, who spoke English. He was very helpful and booked a car and driver to take us to Trincomalee. 

Mix of charm and wear and tear

The location with lagoon and sea is great although a little out of the town to get to. The pool is OK. The insects, ants and cockroaches was the thing that made us leave. Food was basic and staff need some training.
