This is a super memorable place to stay. We arrived by raft and felt like explorers in the jungle. Sinuous paths wind between the trees to the cabins, which are all stilted and over the river. The cabins are basic, as they are open to the jungle on one side, however, they are en-suite with flushing loos and even power sockets in the rooms to charge devices. The river is loud all night, but it's like white noise and didn't bother me at all (my daughter wore ear plugs, I slept fine without). The restaurant offers a buffet dinner, which was delicious. I would highly recommend staying here, for me, it was the highlight of our 10 days in Sri Lanka.

Beautiful setting

The hotel and overnight stay were horrible! The beds were not clean and the food was not good and above all very expensive! Also there is not any restaurant in the area or village. We wouldn't do this again. The rafting was ok but also not impressive.

Not Good! 

A very beautiful locationjust next to sinharaja rainforest. The whole place is a bit outdated and can use a refresh. The service of the staff is very friendly. The breakfast is very very poor and for western people not so good. 

Nice location but not so clean

Awesome place. Very good food. Friendly staff. I would recommend the chalets as you are just above water and the rooms does not have windows. It’s just covered with tats and you could really enjoy the sound of the river and opened to the nature. Don’t worry about insects coming into your room  as there is a good mosquito net. Anyway there  were no insects at all. The owner Channa is a very good host and he will make you feel at home

Weekend in Kithulgala

This was a totaly new experience for us. The rafting was great and also the bufet was good. A unique location with friendly staff. Sleeping next to a wild river was in the start not easy and felt like sleeping outside. For bagpackers and people who love adventure a place you have to visit. For people who are used to luxury a no-go.

Unique place

The food was awesome and they asked us every evening what we would like to eat. The service is impeccable and they really try their best to make your stay as welcoming as possible. We went rafting and canyoning as well which they turned into a fun experience. The rooms all face the river and are almost on top of it, So you get the full experience of nature all around. There was hardly anyone in Kitulgala due to negative travel advice, don’t listen to it. The Sri Lankans, want nothing more than to welcome you to their country and show you everything the country has to offer. Kitulgala really is a beautiful place…

Rafting in Kitulgala

Incredible essentially outside room’s looking directly over the river. The kids loved rafting, I loved the nature. Shame we didn’t do more. Zip line currently out of action, all the staff were so nice.

Location

This is my first  experience . It was superb. Enjoyed rafting in a safe and a fun way. 
Photos and videos was provided upon our request and the quality was really good.
Had a natural cinnamon welcome drink which was really refreshing.
Even though this was the first time I can really recommend the service to everyone. 
Next time Planning to stay in their location and experience all the adventures. Specially thank to mr ravindu .

Longest way of the  rafting  in Kitulgala

Real Sri Lankan hospitality. Very friendly staff. Nice food. Rooms looking out on the river on a colonial estate. Experienced people to guide you on a series of adrenaline rushing activities. Overall very glad we came across this place.
