We were a family of 8( 6 adults and 2 kids). The house is beautifully designed and decorated giving a very natural and earthy feeling. 
Finding the place first time was a little tricky , we did circle the lane for 10 mins to locate since the board wasn’t too clear. It’s right opposite tang’s Chinese restaurant. 

The rooms were very clean and suitably spacious. The bedspreads and the furniture was just as required. 

The owners and staff are very warm. The breakfast was simple , filling and perfectly made. 

Looking forward to our next trip to srilanka ... 

Beautiful ambience and hospitality 

Extremely unfriendly staff. Would not recommend.Ny guest was not allowed to take his food inside the room. He was forced to eat downstairs. Although the hotel is conveniently located, the staff did not show any flexibility.

Very bad customer service

Well kept, well maintained, homely stay.. u get the end of ur day to be relaxed and peaceful without all the noisiness of the City.. Its a 1 hour drive from the airport and located in a quiet area wich is not very far away from all the major sight seeing spots.

The best silent location to Stay in Srilanka..

Stayed for three nights at the Halcyon House hotel exploring the busy city. Lovely to return at the end of the day to this quiet bed and breakfast hotel. Well designed home of young Sri Lankan sister and brother team which had belonged to their Grandfather. Really imaginative and successful new layout with happy staff team. Great place to start your holiday. Tuk tuk drivers may need to be guided in however!

First time in Colombo!

We stayed for 1 night before flying out and the Hotel was great! Walking distance to great restaurants and beach, lovely outdoor areas with great breakfast where they cooked eggs to order.
Our room was for 5 people and consisted of 2 different rooms with plenty of space including table and chairs, large window and preparing area and great bathroom. It was clean modern and fresh and the staff were really friendly and helpful with all our airport enquiries.
Overall great place and hope to go back again! 


Great place to stay in Colombo

Located in Colombo 5 residential area and around 1 hour from airport. Not a lot of restaurants near by, but yes located in a quiet area. Getting there was troublesome due to amount of road traffic.
Located down an alley, appears new place. Stairs to large room No.2 that had a comfy bed with large wooden base that could be annoying to someone kicking the edge.
Very noisy water system when others use the water and AC also noisy
Room fan only worked at fast speed.
TV did not work,  you need to advise them the channels you want.
WiFi was an issue where the password expired at midnight so not available when you wake
Bathroom is ok, only soap provided, shower wash container was empty.
Breakfast was basic
Charged $20 for transport to airport.
Probably better and cheaper places elsewhere, for one night just ok

A little way from main attractions and over priced

Cosy boutique villa mid-way between airport and the city. Late check-in possible. Friendly staff and great place to chill with friends. Has no pool or big garden. Rooms are cosy but could become tight if you have a lot of luggage. Only continental breakfast is served but that's a minor issue.
