We stayed here for two weeks and were welcomed very warmly indeed.  The downstairs area where we were based is delightful, and Anu and her family did their best to make it feel like a home from home.  The location is great for cafes and restaurants, and it's in a beautiful and quiet area of Colombo 3.  

Comfortable and welcoming

Amazing house in the heart of colombo. Wanted to stay for a few days at Colpetty House and it end’s up for 2 weeks! The location is fabulous, right in the city center, 10 mn from every touristic places, good restaurants and shopping centers but at the same time Colpetty House was so quiet, and It’s so green in this area that i did not even feel i was in the SL biggest city. I booked the room on the ground floor with my own terrasse and an open living room & lounge with this big sofa to chill out, was feeling totally home! And on the top of that Anush and her beautiful family are such Lovely Caring and kind peoples, always smiling and giving you goods tips but at the time not intrusive and respectIng your space. Just thank you for making my  stay in colombo  unforgettable 🙏🏻

Amazing!

We had a wonderful two nights at Colpetty House at the start of our holiday in Sri Lanka. Anushika and Roma who own the property were hugely friendly and welcoming, making sure we went to one of their favourite restaurants on our first night to try authentic Sri Lankan food. They also gave us lots of tips on things to see and do in Colombo and on the island in general and made us feel incredibly welcome and at home. The room was large and comfortable with good AC, a lovely bathroom and excellent WiFi. It’s located in a very quiet leafy district but also really close to the centre of town and the beach. We could not have found anywhere better and hope to stay there again if we ever return to Sri Lanka.

Wonderful place to stay in quiet central district of Colombo

My family of 12 stayed at Colpetty House for a week at the end of December 2019. We booked the whole house, except the Penthouse which had a separate entrance.

Our family came from Malaysia, Sydney, Oman and Hawaii to attend two family weddings. It was a wonderful reunion and Anushika's house was ideal for all of us to be together. There was plenty of space in the lounge / dining areas which were open and airy, to sit and chat and eat, as we do when we all meet up. 

The house is on a quiet street, not too far from Galle Road and transport was easy to arrange. All the rooms are airconditioned, and also have fans. The entrance has a coded entry system which is secure and convenient. The Office Manager greeted us on arrival and showed us around the home. She was very cheerful and responsive to all our needs. Kumar, the caretaker, cook and handyman was very friendly and helpful, and would keep the place in order and prepare a delicious, plentiful breakfast daily for our group. This was included in the price. A cleaning lady would also come daily. She was very helpful and pleasant, even made some special dishes we requested.

We met the owners, Anushika and her husband Romesh, a couple of times. All my queries and emails to her regarding the booking were answered promptly and our requests taken care. They are a wonderful friendly couple and made sure we were very comfortable. All of us enjoyed our stay at Colpetty House and it was truly a home away from home. We hope to return to Colombo and stay here again.

Excellent Stay and Convenient location at Colpetty House

We booked a room in Colpetty house for 2 days.. we reached at 3.30 pm and wanted to check in.. But the room was not ready. They said it will take half an hour. We requested that we need to quickly get changed and head out. So after returning I found the condition of bathroom was similar to when we initially entered. Hairs all over the bathroom sink. This is not what is expected at this kind of price point. Breakfast was bread and fruits.. They really need to improve cleaning standards. 

Disappointing stay

I've just passed by here and liked it very much. The family who lives here is very helpful and caring with their guests and the place is beautiful. The place is super spacy and clean. Definitely a place to recommend!

Spacy, friendly place!

We stayed 1 night there and really enjoyed. clean house, very nice breakfast and super friendly and welcoming Anu. She helped us guide through areas and places to see and how to travel other parts of sri lanka.

very nice place

I stayed just over a month at Anushikas and Rommas place and I would never go anywhere else again while in Colombo. The entire family is warm, welcoming and sweet but respects your privacy at the same time. 

The place (top floor) was perfect for myself and also gave me space to invite friends over once in a while. The spectacular terrace invites you to enjoy sunsets, practise yoga, have dinner parties or just enjoy the skyline of Colombo. The flat is located just off Duplication Road - Food City, best local Rice and Curry and Hospital within walking distance!

This place is suitable for short or longterm stays. I can definitely recommend Colpetty House to anyone planning on staying in Colombo.

Cozy, familial place in the heart of Colombo

Hello.We stay at colpetty house between 5-8 Jan.2019 and the penthouse apartment was excellent,near by downtown even if you dont find there anything,no pub's,restaurant's nothing.market is walking distance from accommodation,also mc'donalds because it's difficult to find food.Room is big,clean and area is quiet.Proper water pressure at the shower.We even get a adapter for the socet.Lovely owner whit very good English skills + helpfull staff.Good wifi.

Penthouse

booked here for just one night before travelling to our next destination, lady of the house was friendly and English was good (she was trying to young and with-it in her language), however the room was very basic and there was no door on the shower so when you showered you flooded the bathroom and go EVERYTHING wet.  Bed was very lumpy.  The owners of this property had a party on this night, so after returning from dinner we went to bed around 9pm as we had to leave at 4am (the owner knew this), the party went on til at least 2am we had very very little sleep and so did i driver who was staying on the premises.  This was so unfair as our driver had to drive with very very little sleep luckily it was only to the airport (poor thing)  I think this is very unfair of the owners to have such parties when they have fee paying guests in their property.  We also by mistake left our 2 phone charges in our room as soon as we got to our next property i knew i had left them behind, i messaged the property straight away and asked if they would send them back to my home address and i will pay the postage and packaging, the reply came and yes, so i gave have her my address and asked for the amount to pay her, that was early January and I have still not heard from her, I have sent many emails, messages, texts and contacted her via my booking agent she still continues to ignore my messages.  I think it is very bad of her to do such a thing.  would not recommend staying her
