The guesthouse is at very good location. Market and cave temple in walking distance, Rooms are normal, can't expect much for its price. The host is very kind and helpful, if you are looking for somewhere to spend the night and don't want to spend too much money, this can be an option!

Good location and nice host

I stayed here for 2 nights during my stay in Dambulla.

What made me happy the most was hospitality of Asela, the host. From the very first time I walked in the place, he kindly showed me all the cheapest rooms he had and let me choose the best one. (I took the second cheapest room.)

He also served me tea set every day, gave me detergent, went to the town to buy me a bottle of beer, etc. etc. He did all these things always with his politeness. His lovely daughter also helped him by taking order and chatting to the guest.

When I left the place, they also came to the main street to see me off and help me catch a bus. It was very helpful because I sometimes had difficulty catching a proper bus on the road by myself.

Positives
- hospitality of the hosts
- convenient location (just in front of Golden Temple and Cave Temple)
- clean, spacious room with hot shower, powerful stand fan with timer and lots of power sockets
- free use of bucket, detergent and hanger for laundry
- 2 hours free Wi-Fi access (Rs.50 / each additional 2 hours)

Negatives
- not many places to eat around the hostel

Great hosts

First of all, the location is just perfect, they are in front of the Cave temple but a bit far from the main Dambulla city centre, but worry not, there are lots of buses that runs along the main road. There are some fenced park (it does not look like park but Im not sure what to refer as) opposite the cave temple, so you would have to cross the park to reach the inn, in which there is another not so proper road. During night time, there are a small scale night market in front of the house. 

The positive points would be:
1) Clean - both room & toilet
2) Wifi available - the owner would give you a prepaid card for Dialog wifi
3) Breakfast is great - you can have what you want & the owner would try to make it.(in my case I just asked for normal sri lankan breakfast and he gave me the milk rice (something like nasi lemak in Malaysia)
4) Have satelite TV in the room -eventhough I did not use it.
5) If you're going to Kandy after that, just has to wait at the main road across the park. 

The minus points would be:
1)During night it could be dark on the outside as there is no light along the "road" in front of the inn. 
2)The owner some currently building some new rooms, but it does not really bother me.

Good location & clean

We booked the green hut online, and were a little surprised by what we saw when we got there.
 The rooms were not particularly clean, there was no hot water, the A/C only worked on fan. We had our own sheets, so the bed didn't bother us, but I would be a little put off if I was using the sheets already on the bed. We had quite a few mosquitoes to contend with and all in all it was far from the best place we stayed on our trip.

But!

If you're not picky, and in fact like slumming it, there are certain advantages that you might want to consider:

- The location. It's "right across the street" from the Rock Cave Temple - the only reason we were in Dambullah. Also, if you, like us, stop at the cave temple on your way to Kandy, the buses stop right across the street. 
- The service - Even though the staff didn't speak much English, they were generous and helpful far beyond what you'd expect, and get, from 4 star hotels. 

Additionally, the included breakfast was good. Not luxury hotel meal, but we had a very nice meal with omelettes cooked to our preference and bread and spreads. Breakfast on the porch made for a great start to the day, and we left in a much better mood than we developed the night before...
