We have visited Sri Lanka often and this time decided to stay for 4 weeks and base ourselves out of just one location, Villa Hiriketiya. We had seen the place a couple of times before when visiting Hiriketiya and it looked just right for us. We were not disappointed. The rooms are spacious and clean. Bathrooms are "wetrooms" and we really like that. Swimming pool and gardens were well maintained and the pool was always clean and perfect to cool down in. WiFi worked throughout our stay and was more than adequate.

The reality is as good as if not better than the photos.

Mali and her family who look after the place day to day were super friendly, helpful and professional, we genuinely miss them.

We had friends who also stayed for 2 weeks in an adjacent room to us. It was their first trip ever outside of Europe. They commented that this was now their favourite place in the world.

Communication with Stefan, the owner was easy and clear.

Highly recommend and would certainly stay again.

Lovely hotel with the most helpful and friendly owners you can think off. Spacious rooms with great beds and linen. There is a lovely pool and the owner prepares all meals fresh! Its only a short walk from the stunning beach. Highly recommended!!!

Best place in the region!!

We had a wonderful 3 nights here to end our trip. Great location just a few minutes walk from the beach. Mali and her family were absolutely charming and helped with anything we needed. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a small relaxed accommodation option with lovely hosts!

Amazing place with lovely hosts

Spacious, modern and very clean room with a shared terrace, pool and sun beds. 
The family running the hotel are very friendly and helped me book a car for my onward journey and a fit-to-fly Pcr-test. 
Location is perfect on the “main street” with several restaurants, daily yoga classes and the beach close by. 
Best choice in Hiri!

Amazing little place with perfect location

This villa was absolutely perfect!! The staff member was super helpful and friendly and was able to organise our safari for us. Pool was a great size and clean. Super close to the beach and restaurants. Room was very neat and bed super comfortable.

Great Villa

The GOOD: Great Location just 50m from the beach. Nice well maintained  spacious garden with a pool and pool bar, sun lounges, pool towels etc . Nice environment for kids. The Bedrooms are itself is quite spacious and the bed is very comfortable with good spring mattress and quality white linen. Friendly Staff member, Only one was there during our stay.
The BAD: The most disappointing factor was the toilet for the $65 we paid a night room only for a double room. Most water connections in the toilet leaked, the shower did not have a cubicle or a curtain and water flooded the floor every time one had a bath. The Hand Bidet leaked all the time and water was flowing on the floor. Hand Shower Leaked when using. There was no place to keep one's soap or shampoo in the shower area, so you had to use the floor. The toilet door could not be closed from the inside and the door had sagged and miss aligned to the latch. This was the case in all 4 toilets in the villa as we tried to move rooms.  The short coming in the bedrooms were that the rooms was poorly lit at night as the bulbs used were low candle watt, so is very gloomy. The Air Conditioner (AC) in these rooms are way too small for the size of room and the 18ft high ceiling. The AC which is a 12,000 BTU unit and take about 12 Hours to cool the room down, this room requires at least a 18,000BTU unit to run efficiently. There was also no ceiling fan too to compensate even though you could see wiring hanging from the ceiling. We spent one hot and wet night and decided to move to another guest house for the next 2 nights even though we had paid for 3 nights in full. One night was refunded however. 
The ADVICE: To the owner. Sir your have a great property and location. Just get the Basics right! ... And no one will complain. Improve the conditions in your toilet,  don't have so many complicated connections in the shower that make it leak. Add a shower cubicle,  make sure the door can be closed. Change the AC and the Lights Bulbs in the bedroom to the appropriate ones. I took the time to write this to help you more that the Guests who will be staying there, please take my advice, from someone has been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years. All the Best!
