We have had the most pleasant experience staying in this place! 🙏👍 Very clean rooms! The hosts are responsive and ready to help at any moment. Hot water in the shower 🙏  Lady the owner washed our clothes for a small fee, and her son Thamidu even washed our tuk Tuk 🙏🥰.  fresh air and silence allow you to sleep well.  wonderful breakfasts.  Also, the place is close to a busy area where you can walk in the evening and visit bars and cafes. also within walking distance of the train station.

This pension is simply wonderful. 
It is located 1 km away from the village center, but very close to the train tracks that lead to Ella’s rock, which is a better location that the really noisy village center.

The view and landscape around are just stunning, the rooms are spotless clean, the owner so friendly and welcoming. 

There is a kitchen, and they serve a home cooked breakfast that is amazing.

For that price, I call it an happy people paradise.

Happy people paradise

The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the main street in a quiet area. The room we rented had it's own little balcony with a great view. The place was clean and quiet and the owner was really nice and helpfull. If you want a relaxing place to spend a few days in Ella, go there.

Quiet, clean and great view

Our homestay was more like a small hotel. Brilliant view is situated up a steep incline and along the edge of a steep valley about 1.5 km from Ella station. It can also be accessed by a pretty level walk 400m  along the railway tracks heading, back towards Kandy and then along a "relatively" level roadway.

Our room offered a single and a double bed. Comfortable  firm mattreses ensured a good nights sleep with thick curtains that kept out the early  morning light. Each room has a fan but no a/c.  Mosquito nets were installed but we had no need of them in this cooler region. Bedding is light and an additional blanket was provided on one of the cooler evenings.

Each room has a private balcony occasionally visited by monkeys. The views are indeed brilliant. Our ensuite shower room was a good size. Water seems to be solely fuelled by solar panels and was usually luke warm in the morning and hot in the evening, but this was sufficient for our needs.

We were warmly greeted by our host upon arrival and offered refreshments. Tuktuks and taxis were arranged for us at competitive prices and usually better than we could haggle independently. Breakfast was served to fit in with our late rising without prior notice. The family were attentive and polite and keen to meet our needs.            
 
The best view from this homestay is from the breakfast room which has one table on a balcony facing the deep ravine. Breakfast was extensive with a variety of fruit toasts butter jam tea coffee eggs hoppers and Roti offered every day in significant quantities. Far more than we could eat!

Evening meals are available but we did not eat our main meals at the homestay.

Brilliant view offers very good value for money.

This is a great option in Ella, value for money is amazing. The rooms were spacious and ours had an amazing view.

Short walk or shorter tuk tuk ride to the main street.

The young man who seems to run the day to day operations is professional helpful and sweet.

Great view, nice rooms. Amazing Value for Money.

We have just stayed here for three nights during our 2 week holiday in Sri Lanka and had a lovely stay. 

We were warmly greeted by Thamindu on arrival and showed to our room. The room is basic (which you would expect from the low price) but it has everything you need. It is very clean, has a hot shower, a mosquito net to cover the bed, a good working fan that you can have on during the night and a balcony to enjoy the spectacular views. There is also a shared kitchen that you can use and keep stuff in the fridge etc if you wish.

Thamindu made us breakfast each morning and gave us information about the walks etc that we were doing that day, he is an extremely polite lovely young man. While we were there we also used their laundry service which was quick and we got everything back as it should be and clean. 

The main seller of this place for us was the views, I would say they are unbeatable. Being up in the hills is lovely as the town is a bit busy and noisy for our liking. It is a very good base for Ella rock (which is a must do!), nine arch bridge and little Adams peak. We opted to walk to town (only about 10 minutes walk) down hill and got tuk tuk’s for a very small price back up the steep hill!

If you want luxury go into one of the big modern hotels in town, if you want fantastic views with a warm local family this is your place!

Decent rooms with beautiful balcony views. Perfect location, short walk to town and launch point to various activities and walks.

The young man who hosted us was super helpful and provided great advice on activities/walks etc. Great value for money and can't put a price on the location/balcony views. Would stay again

Great Value Option

We came here after being unable to find our booked accommodation and were very happy with our stay. Rooms were super clean, hot shower and a terrace where you can watch the monkey troupes play! The breakfast was the most generous we've had with nice and strong coffee and an amazing view of Little Adams Peak, Ella Rock and Ravana Falls. Staff were very welcoming. Thank you for a lovely stay!
