My wife and I used to stay at the Albert Fort Boutique Hotel in Galle but that is no longer functioning as an hotel. We then found the Albert Guest and were not surprised to find out that that two sisters own the two hotels and they are very close to each other. We stayed for one night and were quite satisfied with the room and especially satisfied with the excellent and friendly service. We would definately stay there again.

Our first time at the Albert Guest

We stayed three nights in this location and were quite satisfied. 

What we liked: 
- The location right in the middle of Galle Fort 
- The breakfast (on our first morning, we had a continental breakfast, which was ok. After that we asked for a Sri Lankan breakfast which was excellent) 
- The friendliness of the owners 

Was I think could be improved: 
- Our room (number 1) was clean but it would benefit from a renovation. Especially the walls had some stains (probably due to rain). We had the chance to take a peak into room number 2 which seemed to be in a better condition 
- You can hear what is happening in room number 2 very good (and vice versa I guess) 

All in all we enjoyed our stay in this location very much, especially given the very low price and the very lovely owners.

Good value for money

We stayed for one night and the location was perfect,
This was a home stay with a very lovely family.
They were very friendly family who were willing to help with our needs including booking a taxi.
The breakfast was brilliant also with plenty of options.

Nice Welcoming Family Homestay

This was my least favourite place of a 3 week trip. It’s essentially a homestay as the family’s home is downstairs. The mother is lovely but the daughter was unwelcoming and not a happy camper. The walls are so thin that my friends and I had conversations from our rooms. That said the breakfast was excellent and the location good within the Fort. But I definitely wouldn’t return. 

Not great 

The rooms are lovely, one of the best rooms we stayed at while travelling on a budget through Sri Lanka. The breakfast / common area is a little dark and it took 45 min for the breakfast to come out. Well located in the fort as well

Nice, very old school Colonial stay.
Nice and friendly family who runs it.
Quiet in 2 different rooms, good fan and A/c
However non of the plug in mozzie Guardian that I have had on other places.
Reccomended strongly but No luxury.

Lovely lowkey in Galle fort

Such a bad experience in Galle. Booked this place on booking.com because of the location & ok-ish reviews. When I went there there was no person to welcome us, cloths were held us to dry & the place was very un safe! When I cancelled the booking the owner called & shouted at me in filth. Really terrible & I advise everyone to stay away from this hell hole if you don't want to get mugged or worse :/

Terrible Place! Avoid if you want to stay safe!`

This property gets only an 'OK' from me. Not a modern hotel.  We were given a friendly, warm welcome by daughter.  The power was out for many hours (Although note: the power was out all over the street and the adjacent streets too).  Breakfast was OK.  Great location. Just two blocks to rampart walls and the water and lighthouse, and many great restaurant options.

OK Place in Galle. Good location

Run by a family, this is almost like a home stay. A very attentive and friendly couple see to all the guests' needs. The room and attached bathroom were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but very tasty and more than adequate.

Homely accommodation

We had a lovely stay at Albert Guest. The room was very clean. The location is absolutely wonderful, you step outside and you are in the middle of Galle fort. Very friendly family who make sure you don't leave the house without a proper breakfast. Ask for a Sri Lanken breakfast.
