Two months before our holiday begin we booked this hotel between 14-24 November 2019 for 10 days due to a friend's advice. We several times had communication with the owner before arriving and expressed our priorties. But when we came,on the contrary to what we talked and what we saw on the photos we found out that everywhere was dirty, doors cant be closed properly, there was no wardrope. We saw that just behind the Orange wall there are only some dirty shelves and nothing else.The worst was the restroom. It is difficult to believe but on the restroom there is no roof. It is obvious that it is rebuilt as wc in someway. And there was a horrible smell of moisture everywhere in the room. Beds were not clean. Spider webs were in every corner. Even the walls were not painted and cleaned. So we decided that we cant stay here with two Kids. We canceled inspite of the prepayment of 150 dolar which we could not take back. When we expressed our complaints, the owner said that after 3 days she could change our room to a better oneas if joking. Moreover,altough we booked with breakfast she said that the kitchen was out of order so she could make some discount instead of breakfast.In conclusion dont believe the good reviews and stay away.

I love this hotel. Really family people, services were best. What you want, you get. Nice garden for yoga or something, 5 minutes to the beach. Nice garden restaurant. Tuk Tuk services. Really nice place and services for really good price.  A little troubles with wifi because was raining, and in this case is problems in Sri Lanka everywhere :) And monkeys walk arround every morning...

Really good services, good place

This was a great little find! Arrived a bit early for a normal check in! It was very relaxed and no problem we were shown straight to our room. The Owner Roshan was always on hand and always helpful. offering to show us places around town where to go eat and sites to see. All his recommendations we awesome and just added to our trip. It was the quiet season so the hotel was about to have a new bar installed, this will only add to the awesome environment the hotel has.

We have already said that we look forward to going back to stay again.

Great Weekend Away

Booked 7 months previously we arrived to be told they didn’t have a booking for us. The owners were in no way helpful, breakfast is not included as advertised and to be honest I wouldn’t want to eat anything cooked in the kitchen. 
We stayed in 3 separate rooms, all of which had damp, one room was completely flooded after a night of rain and another’s toilet was not connected properly so leaked all over the floor. 
There is no attempt to control any of the insects, particularly the red ants which bite and the cockroaches that we found in 2 of the rooms. 
Sleeping on a mouldy pillow also lead to my mother contracting a horrific chest infection, all in all the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. 
Ideal location but that’s the only thing positive about it. 
Don’t stay here!!

Worst Experience in a hotel ever

Good Life is 4 minutes walk from Unawatuna Beach and all it's amenities. 

It's run by the incredibly welcoming host Ushantha, who gave us great tips on things to do and info on the local area.

There are only five rooms so it's very peaceful with lovely grounds and a couple of very sweet, lazy pet cats who hang out in the garden.

The rooms are enormous, light, airy and everything is fairly new. Huge comfortable beds, good linen, nice big modern bathroom with good water pressure. Everything in the room was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The air con was quiet and efficient and there was a little fridge, TV, table and chairs and a safe built into the wall unit.

Upstairs there's a great communal area with a pool table (free), hammocks and a bar. Perfect for chilling out when it's hot and to mingle with other guests over a few drinks.

Good Life was excellent value for money and one of the best places we stayed during our travels, I'd have no hesitation in coming back and recommending to others to stay here.

Brilliant

From start to finish the owner could not do enough for us. He greeted us with a complimentary cold drink which was most grateful after a long drive from yala. The room was lovely and big and so was the bathroom. Breakfast was very good and very reasonably priced. He cooked a fish meal for us on his BBQ one night and it was delicious. It is a great location. Plenty of restaurants nearby and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. I would highly recommend the Good Life. Thank you for a lovely and relaxing stay.
