Recently visited the place for one night stay. We checked in at night, had fewer choices.
Initially they quoted much higher price & negotiated to one half the amount previously quoted within 2 mins. Room which was offered was very small for a couple. Lack of cloth hanger. Too noisy when people pass by. More of a hostel, than a hotel. Especially to cater international tourists, prices were very high. Mini bar is charged 20x the regular MRP. Same applies with local tourists. Beware! For a 3 star independently owned hotel, this is way too much. My bad, I could have done my research beforehand. Please note that they take way too long to give bills, if requested.

We stopped here on the way to Elle to eat lunch. It’s located on the road and had a hotel attached. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were very large. They made a real effort to look after us and it was much appreciated.

Excellent new restaurant

We had a wonderful experience here. The service from Pasan was excellent. We ordered vegetarian pizza which were crispy and delicious made by chef Prasanna. We enjoyed taking part in the celebration of the owner Ravi’s birthday. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area

Excellent service and food

We've booked this place and paid via agoda but when we arrived they told us that they want much more money. Luckily agoda sorted this out but in the meanwhile they kept harrasing us even at night. 
The place is located right by the mosque and a highway so it's very noisy. It takes around 30 minutes to walk to the beach. 
Internet was almost non-existent. 
Breakfast was a total rip off - for half it's price you can get a delicious 'all you can eat' Sri Lankan breakfast buffet anywhere. At Tharusha you get 2 cold scrambled/boiled eggs, a dry toast and a piece of sausage. 
They wouldn't let us into their restaurant - there were always some locals there and hotel guest were not allowed inside, Instead they brought breakfast to our room. Eating in a supertiny room is really no fun. 
In 3 weeks we had one room service/cleaning after demanding it for days. 
Basically it is a really unwelcoming and unfriendly place - contrary to dozen others hotels and b&b's we've been to in Sri Lanka.


Avoid this place 

The rooms are very small, there is no where to place your clothes so you are living out of your bag. 
The bathroom there is no hot or warm water to shower in. Food is ok but not a lot to choose from the menu 
There is no where to sit outside. 

Small 

We stayed there with a rather large group for four nights. The staff was very nice in changing rooms, so we had more rooms with twin bed after the first two nights, but they also changed rooms of people who didn't want to change. Breakfast was never ready at the time we asked for, ont he first day we waited 90 minutes, because we weren't informed by check-in that you have to pre-order breakfast. The hotel itself is situated quite far away from anything of interest (including a supermarket), so you have to use some kind of transport or be willing to walk for twenty minutes at the least. The main concierge we talked to hardly spoke English, so communication was quite difficult. 
On the up side, they were very friendly and helpful in organizing activities, the hotel rooms were also clean.

okayish

the rooms are small, perfect for a couple, a family of 3 will struggle to fiy on the bed. the beds are soft and very comfortable. the toilets did not have soap, had to ask front desk for it (no issues)

my room had 3 wall power sockets, all were round pins. carry a travel multi-socket if you are staying at the hotel (the front desk keeps a few spare ones)

the toilets were clean and dry..

i did not have any meals at the hotel, so can not comment, its Galle, so there are numerous places to eat... 

location - if you are looking for a place overlooking the sea, this is not the place. there is a mosque 500 meters away and they start their sermons at 7ish and its very loud. if you don't like this type of thing select another hotel. 

there are plenty of tok toks so moving around will not be an issue.
