Rooms are ok, no hot water. But surroundings and service are bad. Ordered Rice & Curry with the manager but on arrival nobody was informed. Ask for hot water in the morning but had to go the restaurant and remind them. For Breakfast at 7.30 am ( also ordered the evening before) still all was closed and steward arrived 15 minute late.

Name changed to Allai Samudra Hotel

Last week i stayed in this place for a nigh for the 2nd time. My 1st visit was on 2017. compare the 2017 now hotel is much better and properly managed. it is bear to the beach and it was awesome. I really love the view. they have open space so you can enjoy sunset and beach parties as well. they have friendly staff. this hotel has receivable fee. but this is located almost 10km away from main city Jaffna if you want to travel to town a taxi fee is around 800LKR oneway if you take Tuktuk it is around 500 to 600 LKR.  all in all this is good hotel and I love it

Nice,quiet, safe place,excellent, helpful staff, delicious food,everything was working well. Room was clean ,price suitable. Wifi,ac,hot water ok. I visited this place twice,i was always satisfied with all the services.

I can recommend

Dropped in after chance meeting with new owner in Supermarket who invited for swim. They don’t serve alcohol but had tea, cooked a reasonable fried rice and some local fish for us. Shallow water of beach ideal for small children. We had car and driver, plenty of parking, can sit overlooking sea. 
Staff are busy trying to clean up and make suitable for guests. Not ready yet in my opinion but a place to watch for future. Lots of plans. Pool is not operational and needs replacing.

Potentially great resort, lovely west facing location

now called Allai Samudra Beach Resort. Building in terrible condition, holes in the walls, window broken, bad sewer smell, lizzards + frogs inside our room. 1 hour to get noodles and we were the only table. Gloomy place.  The manager seems to try hard but nothing reaches an acceptable level. Windows on ground floor rooms are boarded. We left after the first night and we were not the only ones. 
S’appelle maintenant Allai Samudra Beach Resort. Immeuble décrépi et pas entretenu, trous dans les murs, vitres cassées, odeur d’égout, lézards et grenouilles dans la chambre. Une heure pour avoir des nouilles et nous étions seuls. Sinistre. Les fenêtres du rez-de-chaussée sont clouées avec des planches. Nous avons fui après une nuit et nous n’etions pas les seuls. Le manager semble essayer mais rien n’est au niveau minimum acceptable.

Very bad

The Place was improved under the new management with additional facilities as New moderate restaurant with better customer service. 

This is a Beautiful Shallow water sea view resort with Joy full environment.  Also attractive nature views with white sandy beach...............with boating facility.

NEW OWNERSHIP WITH NAME CHANGED AS ALLAI SAMUDRA BEACH RESORT

We had booked two nights in this hotel based on the hotel's profile on booking.com. The pictures are inaccurate and the promised room facilities like a mosquito net were not there. The place is very run down. The room was not clean and we had several cockroaches. Except for the manager (who was called when we complained) the staff did not speak English and therefore communication was difficult. We left after one night and were given a discount on the price for that night. The manager was very friendly and  said that he wants to improve the place, but sadly we found him to be untrustworthy in the end as he promised us that he will change the profile on booking.com, which has not been done to date (after two weeks). We were unable to do the review on booking.com because they reported us as "no shows". We hope they will improve in the future.
