Because the season was low, the owner of the hotel dismissed all the staff. It was just a couple of people left. The rooms were not cleaned, and even more so, the bedding and towels were not changed. Water was brought once and then poured into glass bottles, so the quality of it is unknown. The room itself is dirty. For breakfast and dinner we were taken to the next hotel 3* (the same owner). This is despite the fact that we paid 4*. The food, to put it mildly, was simply from the body.

It's just disgusting.

The hotel was on tour, didn't pick it up very well... it turned out like this... the hotel floor is abandoned, there are few people... the quality of service leaves you wanting the best, obviously not 4 stars... the cleanup wasn't done for a week until I raised this question.

That's four stars.

We are family of 3 and we're staying at Passi Villas for two weeks with my 3 yo daughter. It is a wonderful place with large rooms in a good condition, huuuge bathroom with a bathtub, big terrace where we’ve had a lot of delightful breakfasts and lovely pool with a small part for kids. Even though that we were the only guest for 2 weeks pool was cleaning every day, all dishes from the menu was available and everyone from the hotel always willing to help. And if there wasn't one hallmark it will be just one good 4-star hotel among the others. 

BUT what amazed me the most and made the different - it is the staff and especially the hotel manager - Amila. He is unbelievably honest, hardworking, kind and heartful man. I travel a lot, but I rarely met the people like him. And all his team member is the same! When you came in Passi Villa you have everything from a good 4 star hotel but on top of that and this what makes this place outstanding is a feeling when everyone treat you like you are there best friends and with sincerely, from the bottom of there hearts try to do their best to make you happy and comfortable. And you know...It is indeed touching. 

PS Guys, if you are reading this - thank you so much! This was a remarkable staying and I'm grateful that I started my experience of Sri Lanka from your hotel, cause you have created for me an impression of Sri Lanka’s people and it's still warm my heart ❤️

My first impression of a Sri Lanka

The staff at passikudah villa were very friendly.
MR.Kumaran,chief cook Mehran,Irshad & the minor staff were extremely friendly & efficient.
The dinner buffet was more than what we expected. All the food including deserts were very delicious. 
It was a very calm and relaxing stay at passi villa. The pool was very clean and pleasent.

A calm & relaxing stay

Passi Villa is a lovely property, rooms with great view, tasteful deco. 

It is a pity that the rooms were provided with basic amenties and the experience came out poor at front desk and housekeeping. 

Rooms - we were wowed by a generously sized bedroom. The bathroom had a nice bathtub but there were no bath salts to enjoy a soak in the tub. No hair dryer in the room, you'll have to call for one and the plug doesn't fit in the electrical socket at the dresser.

Housekeeping - there were no blankets and were provided with sheets when we called for them. Walked out to front desk to ask for blankets again. Fnally got them sent but had to make the beds on my own. Called the front desk for rooms to be made in the morning but for 2 days, no one came each day after we returned to the room at 4pm.

WiFi - it doesn't work in the rooms although front desk had provided passwords for the room. An attendant came to the room to check and said they will restart the system and to try after 10 mins. It didn't work and later front desk told me that WiFi only worked at the lobby! Why bother asking me to try in the room then.

Front desk - not very keen with providing any information when asked about moving around the area or going out for activities. The response we got we it's too far away. This experience was slightly different when this gentleman (who looked like a manager) was present. 
Check out - rang front desk from 7am for assistance with bags. No answer for 15 mins and I walked out to find an unmanned front desk. The very helpful chef and kitchen staff who were busy preparing for breakfast had to run around to look for the front desk personnel. Together with another guest, we continued to wait at the front desk for another 7-10 mins before someone came down from upstairs. I was told that front desk only starts at 8am and not sure if that is correct. See attached picture of an empty front desk.

** Kudos to the Pool Attendant - this gentleman was probably the only person that did his job with care. He very kindly layed the deck chairs with mats and pool towels and even brought out a Frisbee and Ball for pool games. It wasn't a busy time at the hotel but he still stood arounat the area the whole time.

Lovely Property but supported by poor hospitality

We were in Kandi for a wedding, after a week in the family, we wanted to escape, to rest and to visit this side of Sri Lanka that has recently been unpopular in tranquility. Fly on the beautiful safari that turned out to be the journey from Kandi to Kalkudah, between elephants and monkeys in a barren state, lakes, jungle and much more. To tell you the wonder we found once we arrived.

Sea like the Maldives!!

For the price this hotel is hard to beat. Nice pool area and huge rooms. The staff speak little English but they bend over backwards to please you. My dinner was very good (set menu). You can tell the chef worked in Dubai before. The only thing was that I was the only guest in the whole hotel! This made for a very strange experience but overall a very good budget place

Good but very very quiet

We were there for 3 days and were able to relax superbly! We almost always had the big pool for ourselves! 😍 For the price and Sri Lanka conditions absolutely top! Sure it has smaller flaws, but such huge rooms and huge balconies I have never seen in Sri Lanka at the price of about 200 m2! The only drawback is the beach which is not necessarily suitable for swimming (corals) but there are enough alternatives nearby highly recommended!

Booked this hotel for a relaxing time in  the sun and by the pool. Overall we had a good experience. The price of the hotel was fairly cheap for such spacious rooms and a great pool. It was windy while we were there but it didn’t bother us too much. Hopefully tourists numbers pick up in the area because it was very quiet and there isn’t much to choose from restaurant wise in the area. 

Nice relaxing stay

It's a very spacious and well-equipped room, definitely cleaned and cleaned every day. It's a very nice and large pool. To swim in the sea, it's best to walk a few meters because there are better ways to swim there. Water is perfect for families with small children, because it's very flat - too flat for the S-home. The staff is very hospitable and nice. There's a buffet in the morning and evening with rich and varied food - for my taste, a little more choice of local cuisine would have been nice. The wine offer is extensive.
