We had a terrible long ride with children all tired, hungry and we came to this place. Not only did they accomodate us at the best price for wlak in but Mr. Anil went out of his way to help us through with our situation. I couldnt remommemd this place more. Best location and morst beautiful property with all the best amenities!!! I give it 5 star!

Best place excellent gem in the heart of Pinnawala

This is a good 2-Star hotel, which served 2 families well for 2 nights. 

+ friendly staff. Willing to accommodate any request - including a late night beer run. They even challenged us to a game of cricket (and were gracious in their comprehensive defeat);
+ air conditioning was without fault 
+ rooms were clean and spacious (one exception: bathroom in room 4);
+ pool was a great temperature and did the job on a warm afternoon. 
+ Sri Lankan cuisine in-house was excellent (special mention to the Dahl and chicken noodle dishes). 

- the road this hotel sits alongside is noisy from 5:30am. Bring some earplugs if a light sleeper
- Seemed to be a forever shortage of towels. That said, extras were delivered on request. 
- Breakfasts were a la carte and didn’t seem to be 1 per person! 

Recommended as a stopover if visiting the Elephant Freedom Project nearby. 

Great Dahl near Kegalle!

lovely hotel, very quiet and private with beautiful pool away from the road overlooking rice paddies

Reasonable rates, small and inexpensive spa, perfect for time out

very close to the Millennium elephant Foundation and Pinnawala government run elephant orphanage, spice gardens and tea factory

easy to get to from Kegalle town or Rambukkana train station

Lovely

We arrived late to the Aarya, having been driven up from the airport. The room was large and comfortable and clean. In spite of the late hour (about 10pm) the hotel still managed to rustle up a meal for us. And breakfast the next day was very nice too.

Nice hotel for a short stay

The hotel/restaurant is in a nice location and makes for a very pleasant setting for lunch, we called as part of our tour of the area on the day, the host was clearly expecting us and was warm in his welcome, finding us a table and drinks swiftly.Lunch was a buffet to which he showed us,however most dishes were empty leaving very little choice. What we had was very nice and I would say more typical Sri Lankan than much of the food we had had,  but there were a number of dishes we would have liked to have tried had they been available. Otherwise nice place.

More attention would be good

I visited this hotel as a guest to one of my friends wedding, so I am speaking in that perspective. Let me tell you how my friends wedding was almost ruined by taking it in this hotel,
1. The staff was not helpful. The waiters were some of the most unprofessional that I have ever seen in a big hotel such as this.
2. The wedding buffet was disgusting....yes, disgusting. The food was not tasty at all. This opinion was shared by many of my friends who had to go through it. When the guests sat down to eat no waiter cared to offer at least a glass of water to the table, let alone hand bowls. We all had to drink from ten or twelve common glasses which were at the table next to a water cooler, the glasses were not changed, yes, ten glasses for the whole crowd . I chose not to drink water out of disgust, because nobody could tell how many people drank from the same glass.
3. In the middle of the ceremony there was a power failure. And since there was no back up generator one by one people had to walk out from the reception hall to escape from the building up heat in it. Even when the power was on the air conditioners did very little to ease up the heat because they were all set to 29 degrees celceus, about one degree less than the environment temperature. But I'm sure that the management must have charged my friends the full cost of an AC hall.
4. There was one common washroom for the entire hotel. I'd say that is alright, if not for the fact that it was extremely dirty. The toilet seat could not be kept lifted by its own and so there were droplets of pee all over it.

On the plus side I think this hotel has much potential if the management was a bit more concerned. It has a beautiful setting completed with a miniature swimming pool and green scenary. But having gone through what I went through, I simply cannot recommend this place as a wonderful wedding destination to anyone. Under the circumstances, I would not even attend as a guest to this facility anytime in the future unless I am that desperate...
