Altogether it was a Good experience...at dad's holiday home...owner of the property Mr. Rajan very helpful...food was delicious and the rooms also having enough space...and clean

The best place to stay at matale

Dad’s Holiday Home is a quite modern well maintained private hotel which is a minute away from  main road of Matale..very safe peaceful environment and neighborhood. Friendly courteous attentive staff.prompt service.delicious food.clean room and bathroom.comfortable Family rooms are also available.we enjoyed and rested very well.Highly recommended for a good peaceful stay.

Meet the expectations 

Can't say enough about Ranjan and his lovely family.  They looked after us like their own family.  The food was great and they were so helpful helping us with transport and logistics.  Also gave us a free upgrade.  Rooms were very clean and nice powerful shower! This is the only place to stay in Matale especially if you have a young family.

Beautiful family run hotel

It was our fist time in matale area. We scheduled our trip within a week & i searched many places for accommodation via internet. But it was tough to find a best place for best price. Finally we picked dad's holiday home.  We enjoyed staying in Dad's holiday home.The room was nice and comfortable,friendly owner.This is a really fantastic budget accommodation.

Best place in Matale area.

I was back in Sri Lanka after five years and as always I spend time in Matale a town in central  province.Rajan has expanded his guest house to include a wedding hall  on the top floor whilst the bedrooms are on the second floor. They are basic ,quite roomy with AC in some which you will need in the hot season. Rajan has a wealth of knowledge about the district and he and his family are always ready to help.
On this trip I took the local bus out to Riverstone tower about 10 miles away then walked back to Matale through the tea estates. Stunning views.
A hike up to the old wiltshire tea estate overlooking the town,about two hours, gives an indication of the very basic conditions for both planters and workers.
A visit to the Anglican church just above the park ,only open for Sunday worship, perhaps a reminder of times past

This is really fantastic budget accommodation.

The owner Ranjan and his staff are really helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

The rooms are good. Clean with private bathroom.

Mine said it had a balcony but it turned out to be the walkway to get to the room, although there was an area at the end with a couple of chairs where I could sit.

A great central location- I walked to the Rock Temple in 30 mins.

The small minibar of soft drinks in the room at minimal retail price was a nice  touch.

A few ants around the door frame in my room but nothing that caused any issue at all.

The AC was most welcome and worked great.

Breakfast is not included but is really reasonable and has choice of Sri Lankan or Western.

This is basic accommodation done really really well.

Ranjan is brilliant.

Great Place to Stay

Pro:
- Rooms are large and clean
- service was good and staff friendly
- good value for money

Cons:
- location is somewhat isolated
- food offered by hotel is relatively simple and pricey

Overall:
- we recommend this as a good stop over location with overall pleasant experience

Nice hotel for a short stay before Kandy

We enjoyed staying in Dad's holiday home. The room is nice and comfortable.the hot water was good. We found the breakfast a bit light and the dinner a bit pricey for what it was. The place is a bit isolated as well. A stop in Matale is worth if you want to visit a spice garden and this place is probably the best in the city. Clean and friendly owner. But food could be better.
