The outside is beautiful, the inside is full of nightmares. The walls are dirty, there are no cabinets (there's a staircase where they hang clothes) The clothes are dirty, all stained. The beds are in the bird room. 1 plus, good internet. But they always turn off the light. Breakfast is like this for three.

we loved our stay at the Green Hill Marissa! Place is an awesome little boutique hotel located close to the main hub of Marissa. Rooms were modern and comfortable! Rooms were clean and the staff were helpful with hiring a scooter! Will definitely be back! Highly recommend 

Excellent hotel highly recommend

This is actually a very nice cosy place, away from hustle & bustle from Mirissa Main Street, but within 10 mins walking distance to eateries and supermarket. Nice chill out bar with swimming pool in front of the hotel room. Spacious room & bathroom with huge bed, plus sitting area in front of the pool side. Friendly & courteous hotel owner and staff. Basic breakfast, drinking water and basic toiletries provided during stay. The setting and concept for relaxation as a cool chill out place is really good at this place. But, room for improvement in terms of cleanliness; the shower and faucet/ tap are rusty which need replacement; the floor was sticky but good that we have our sandals to put on in the room; lots of remnants of plants floating in the swimming pool; visible and huge patches of stains/ mould of the curtain is a serious problem. We hope the hotel owner would take immediate improvement in the areas that we have highlighted. Otherwise, it maybe a pity as the overall concept of this place is pretty good for relaxation/ chill out. 

Nice place, but Cleanliness needs improvement 

This place has potential to be great. If jordy was not involved in the running of the hotel. 

We booked based off the good reviews but now were actually second guessing if the reviews are even honest/real. 

The photos make this place seem better than in real life. Clearly someone has enhanced in lightroom as the images are just not realistic. The staff speak little english and when you are complaining they seem to have no english at all. 

Breakfast is 2 slices of toast, a tomato and 2 eggs. Instant coffee and half a banana each. We weren't the only guests asking for a more varied breakfast - 2 guests who didnt eat eggs or toast were told they didnt have anything else for them - which is bull as this hotel has an adjoining cafe and the menu was on the wall for all to see. Very odd. 

Really bad mold in the rooms - all over the curtains and bathroom. I have no doubt they will just paint over this mold instead of actually doing anything to solve the issue. When we complained that it was a health risk to us (asthma, lung irritation) jordy dismissed our concerns and at first refused to give us back our money. Only after a lengthly argument where he boasted how he 'has millions' and "doesnt care about reviews' did he agree to give us back half of our money (but still kept the 15% booking fee even after he cancelled our stay online to prevent us leaving a review on booking.com) 

This place should be $25 a night, not $50. If it was $25 i wouldn't be leaving a review at all, as for what you get $25 would be fair. $50 is a RIP OFF.

No shampoo/bathroom amenities. Just two questionable towels. Bathroom was so basic, mold all over the sink. 

Bed rocked every time we moved - not all the legs of the bed were completely flat to the floor meaning we didnt sleep well. 

Kettle but no cups, no tea or coffee left for us. No water in the rooms. No welcome drink. Pool was dirty. No staff on site during the entire first day and night meaning we could not get any drinks???

Our welcome to the hotel was insisting we pay up front before we see the rooms. Red flag right there. We only agreed to pay for the 2 nights stay after we saw the room first.

Id seriously consider somewhere else or proceed with caution. The booking.com reviews are questionable. 

To top it all off, after a heated argument discussing why we wanted to leave and get half of our money back he blatently said he did not like the irish in his hotel. Racism is sri lanka is real. 

Owner Jordy is an arrogant racist 

I had a goal to just live in place with a pool and A/C.
And this place looks even better than on images. 
The location is quite good like 10 minutes from the beach and you do not have any main roads near by, so it is quite quiet.
The owner is always busy with improvements of the stay and that is so cool to look at. 
Also they recently opened a cool place near by - jungle cats, so you do not need to worry about food at all. 

Good vibe place

Perfect accommodation with everything you need for a great holiday in Mirissa. The place has a very nice pool, large rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Recommend the cafe which is super nice with very tasty food! 

Great accommodation!

A beautiful hidden gem in Mirissa. Our room was huge and very comfortable. The hotel is very tropical with a pool and cafe on site. It was quiet when we were there which was relaxing. It was such a nice place we wished we could have stayed longer to spend more time swimming and eating here! 

We walked to town/the beach the first time we left but ended up catching a tuk tuk the other times, it is walkable in about 15 minutes but we preferred to relax and get a lift. 

I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and great breakfast! 

Hidden Gem 

Newest cafe in Mirissa I think I had the chicken burger everyday it was amazing, clean rooms and perfect new pool which is much needed here. Super friendly staff and owners amazing vibes.

They took us partying to all the hotspots and even discounted us on cafe food because we were regulars :)

We are very disappointed. In the photos the room looks stylish and neat. In fact and quite objective:... the room was stained, asked to be replaced, replaced with the same in the stains;... the room has a tight shower air... only the floors in the viewing area are dirty, around the corners there is dust. There was no hot water. On the crane is rust. The shops are in terrible conditions.

There's a difference in price and quality, so don't ever go there.

Green Hill has everything you need during your time in Mirissa. It has clean rooms with air con, breakfast included and is completely affordable. There is an amazing pool you can hang out by and socialize with the other guests. It has a hostel kind of vibe but then at the same time, private rooms so you have your own space, which was perfect for us traveling as a couple. Highly recommend staying here!!
