very clean, comfortable, tastefully appointed interiors. lovely local folks, very attentive and not pretentious at all ! A real plus. Indeed it was value for money without any surprises. The access is bit challenging though given there no sign posts etc. to make best of your visit try and arrive early to the property. You wouldn't have a problem if you are being driven and for the ones who bus hiring a tuk tuk is the best choice. The food is essentially local although breakfast can be western. Better stock up if you r with kids etc since the nearest town is 30 minutes drive away.

The bungalow is remote and ideal for travelers who want a complete away from it all stay. This is a bungalow with two rooms a kitchen, dining room with one table and living room. The cooking is done by the housemaid and is local dishes. Her and her husband are very friendly but speak no English. We were met by the owner with lovely flowers and a cake. The room was clean and tidy but the shower area looked unfinished. We were offered a coffee on arrival then nothing else until dinner at 6.30pm. There was an empty fridge in the room. We were left alone from around 8.30pm and found it too quiet for us. They are making the effort to get the bungalow known but has a way to go unless you like complete peace and quiet.

Remote and Nothing to do.

This is a wonderful magic place.
A beautiful brand new guesthouse with incredible rooms. ( we had one with airco ).
The tranquility is inspiring. Between the mango trees you can find equilibrium within yourself.
Forest Glen is the perfect outpost to discover the cultural triangle in Sri-Lanka.
You can visit ( and there are really good drivers ) Anuradhapura, the Eternal Sacred city,Mihinthale, the World Heritage Sacred Temple and Polonnaruwa, the Mediaeval Capital city.
And ofcourse the Caves of Dambulla with the Golden Temple.
We have enjoyed our stay incredible much.
Especially the combination of Forest Glen Dambulla and Forest Glen Kandy is very nice because the owners are the same and you can get a lot of information for a magnificent stay in Sri-Lanka.

Beautiful Forest Glen

The owners of this hotel also own The Forest Glen in Kandy. When we stayed there, we told them we wanted to see the cultural triangle and they arranged our stay here and a driver. It worked out really well. The man running this place was really friendly, polite and helpful and an excellent cook - we enjoyed a lovely meal and breakfast. The room was really nice and spacious with air conditioning a large bathroom and shower. It's located along a track off the main road at Dambulla with other hotels and guest houses along it. However it feels really peaceful. There are only two guest rooms but there is a large lounge and a veranda.
