I stayed here one night, traveling solo, after landing in Colombo late at night. Negombo is actually closer to the airport than Colombo!

Cinnamon is a spotless, simple guesthouse with a beautiful garden and lovely hosts. Great shower! Delicious breakfast at time of your choosing. 

As it is a short drive from the airport so excellent option for one night before heading off to Sigi/ Kandy/ the mountains. They let me arrive late (after midnight), organized a driver from airport for 1500 rupees, included a delicious breakfast of eggs, pancakes and fruit. Quick and good responses to all emails through booking.com. 

Tip: for onward travel it was cheaper to get the next guesthouse to arrange it

Slight gripe: water wasn’t included in price (100 rupees for a small bottle which is overpriced) but everything else was good value for money

I would stay here again and thanks for staying up late to greet me!

Homely overnight stay

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of a nearly three week stay in Sri Lanka and it was excellent value, friendly and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and generous, the dinner delicious and good value and our host family were warm, welcoming and helpful. In fact as a family of 5 ( youngest 17) we agree that this was the best guesthouse we stayed in in Sri Lanka : and NOT the most expensive! It was the only one, hotels included, that had everything we’d been told it would: hot water, good showers, working AC, wifi, clean bathrooms, generous and delicious food, friendly family and clean spacious rooms. Excellent value for money and superior to more expensive places we stayed in Sri Lanka. It is not as close to the beach and front strip if that’s what you’re looking for. They also arranged an airport pickup for us as we arrived at 1 am. 

Best guesthouse ! 

I stayed in the Cinnamon Guesthouse as a first stop on my holiday. The rooms was airy and clean, bathroom recently renovated and spotless. Delicious dinner cooked by the family who manage the guesthouse, spent my time chatting to all the family which was nice as I was the only guest. Bit of a walk to the beach but doable.

Great value for money. Simple and clean

A stay at the cinnamon guesthouse is really worth it.
we stayed there for 2 nights and really liked it there. it was a great atmosphere away from the busy streets. you can relaxe in the garden by listening to the birds and just coming down from the long flight. If you relaxed enough, theres a cheap opportunity to hire a bike and have a 5 to 10 minutes ride to the beach. 
The owner and his wife are really really friendly and helpul. There was no question unanswered. Because of is his long experiences in sri lanka, they know lots of things about the island they're telling if you ask. they also organized us a transfer from the airport to the guesthouse for a fair price and a really nice driver. 
if you're to lazy to go out for dinner, you can eat in the guesthouse. the sri lankan dinner was really delicious and  you got lots of different things to try. simply great! even so the breakfast, different fruits, toast, marmelade, butter, different types of eggs, a fresh fruit juice and tea or coffee. just the perfect start in the day.
Our room was spacious and clean. It was nothing special but it doesn't have to. it's not a place to stay the whole day - only for sleeping :) So nothing to criticize.

great guesthouse to arrive and come down from the flight

We booked the Cinnamon before we went to sri lanka as a first accomodation wich was a good deciosion. The owner, Klaus from Germany, furnished the house, wich is in the near vor negombo-city, in a very european-style (the bathroom was the best of all we had in our stay in Sri Lanka).

The People at Cinnamon did everything to make our stay as comfortible as possible. Even special wishes for breakfast wasn't a problem and not charged extra!
You can rent bikes for looking arround the area (ATM is about 2,5km and small supermarket about 1,5km away) very cheap there.
Also ask them if you need sone ideas for your trip they know the island and can give you some tips where to go to and what to see there.

If you don't want to go out for dinner just tell them in the morning. They will arrange for example some Curries with rice or plates of Fruit for you (charged extra but very good price!).

Rooms are nice and calm/quiet and have a/c (also quiet).

Taxi can be arranged for pick up from/to airport.(easier after along flight and little bit of jet lag.

All in all it was the perfect start for our SriLanka-trip
