It is a good restaurant with nice and friendly waiters and the food was very very very good. The restaurant itself looks very nice and the people working here are also very nice, we have been here two times and liked it very much.

Good restaurant Negombo

It is difficult to beat the comfort and service at Prego Suites. As I wrote before, spacious, clean and comfortable rooms with the best service. Nothing is too much for Mr. Roy and his staff. They go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. Of course, the high light of this hotel would be its dining room with its authentic Italian food. If you are in Negombo, the dining room at Prego Suites is a must try. You will not be disappointed.
The hotel is centrally located and close to the beach. Given the high cost of hotels in Negombo, you will be surprised at the cost for a night at this hotel.

Hard to Beat

Fantastic food we had Lobster,King Prawns & fresh caught Tuna, staff very professional and very helpful. Stayed 1 night in spacious room very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.great place.

Great food & great accommodation

We had one of the best Italian dinners at Prego. Warm and friendly environment and staff. Walked out after 3 courses of yummy meals. It was a busy night, but we didn’t feel neglected. Constant attention from our wait staff. Just excellent. Highly recommending it.

Dinner at the restaurant

I stayed at Prego Suites for a month, mid January to mid February. It is a great place to hang out. Clean, comfortable rooms are huge, some with full kitchen facilities. All rooms have AC, Wifi, flatscreen TV, fridge and coffee/tea station and a very comfortable bed. Hot/cold shower has really good water pressure. 
This hotel is where the action is in regards restaurants, pubs and the nearby beach. Of course, you would have to look far to find a better place to dine than at the in house Italian restaurant. In my experience the food is consistently delicious. The kitchen staff and waiters are always at the top of their game! A bonus for guests who book directly with the hotel, is a 20% discount on food and beverages at both the in house restaurant and at Bacco Wine Bar a little further along the street.
The owner, Roy, is always on site and he is available to make your stay enjoyable.
Consider Prego Suites for a long stay. You can negotiate a rate with Roy.

Excellent value for your money!

We stayed at the Prego Rooms and Suites in January initially for a week of our 3 week holiday in Sri-Lanka, but, we loved it so much we decided to spend our last three nights there as well. We stayed in the rooftop 3 bedroom apartment, each bedroom had ensuite bathroom, and it was very clean and comfortable. There was loads of space and a large well appointed kitchen and also wide screen TV with lots of English channels and of course Wi-Fi. All bed linen and towels were supplied and even large beach towels.

Outside there is a very large fantastic sun terrace and I mean large! There are sun beds, table and chairs and lots of large beautiful potted plants which the excellent staff water daily. There is a Hotel on the opposite side of the road which does block the immediate view of the sea, however, there is an excellent sea view to the right of the terrace. The beautiful beach is only a short walk away and if you want to laze by a pool the owner can arrange for you to use the facilities of a large hotel just a few minutes walk up the road, 2 very large pools right on the beach. You just pay a very small fee direct to the hotel each day you go there.

The apartments are on the main road through Negombo so there is lots of close by nightlife, but, not noisy. Most of the other apartments and Hotels are also on the road, so par for the course. There can be a lot of traffic noise which normally ceased by 10.00pm at the latest and it was much quieter at the weekend, but, up on the Sun Terrace you hardly notice it and when you are in the bedroom it is very tranquil and quiet. We live in the middle of rural France with virtually no traffic and the road just did not bother us.

On the ground floor the owner has the Prego – South Italian Cuisine and Wine Bar the food is excellent and the staff are brilliant. Definitely try the Steak, which is brought in from Australia, the Tuna in Orange and the Swordfish Anti-Pasta – in fact try everything, it’s all great! The owner also has another restaurant just up the road called The Bacco – Trattoria and Pizzeria which is equally as good as the Prego.

The owner’s brother who works in the restaurants is also a registered tour guide and he took us on a tour for 4 days of some of the high spots on the Island. He booked hotels for the evenings for us which were all great and he was such great company to be with, the tour was also very reasonable and at the end of the tour he arranged for us to stay at the most amazing beach side resort for 5 days, 2 hours North of Negombo and even picked us up to go back to the Prego in Negombo and dropped us off at the airport for our flight home.

To be honest we had an absolutely fantastic time staying here and would certainly come back and hopefully soon! It is going to be hard to rate our stay on Booking.com and other sites because we have to be as honest as possible so that you can make your decision, but, in our hearts for us it is 10 out of 10 all the way!!!!!
