We arrived at the hotel late after getting the train, the hotel was a bit out of the town so we asked where we could eat. They managed to feed us in the restaurant, we had rice and noodles with beer which was so tasty! The room was ok, large beds and clean, the bathroom was a bit basic but the usual standard for Sri Lanka. They told us there was no time for breakfast so to just get up when we were ready. In the morning, there was a table set for us and breakfast was served. There was lots of wildlife around the hotel. The hotel owner organised us a tuk tuk to visit the ancient city and looked after our bags for us whilst we did that.

Perfect stay really recommend!

We found this place by accidente - we really needed the coffee,but in the end we booked the room and stayed there,because it really has a good vibe. The owner was very helpful and respectful . He gave us good advises - it's like he really feels what people need at the time. Also the recomendation for our next stay in other town was perfect. The rooms was clean and the balcony was perfect. Not to forget the beer after walking around all day. Sincerly thank for all your energy and 'la buena onda'. Would recommend it to everyone. AND THANK YOU AND THE WHOLE FAMILY!!

Wonderful suprise

Stumbled across this place by accident, so glad we did, food was great, staff so lovely and willing to help, the rooms where the best we stayed in, in sri Lanka considering we have been here for 3 weeks, you have to stop here

Lovely

Very nice family run hotel overlooking rice paddy fields. Very hospitable owners with lots of local knowledge. make sure you order your evening meal in advance as the food is great but needs time for preparations. The ruins are a must see.

Great small Hotel close to the ruins

The location here is lovely, at the end of a lane off the main clock tower roundabout in the centre of the old town. The hotel overlooks paddy fields and you get a real rural feel even though you are walking distance from town. To complement the country vista there is an abundance of wildlife and we saw chipmunks, mongoose, kingfisher, ibis and many more.
Rooms at the hotel are spacious and airy, with huge bathrooms, and everything very clean and tidy. We were on the ground floor and our room had French doors onto a private terrace with table and chairs. The bed was huge (2 singles pushed together) and we had both air conditioning and fan, although the a/c wasn’t the most efficient. The dining area is a large covered open barn-like space with tables again verlooking the paddy fields. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh juice, traditional cake and savouries, omelette, toast, bananas and a pot of tea. We also took dinner there (there is virtually nowhere else to eat in Polonnaruwa town) both nights of our stay and the food not only was excellent quality and very reasonably priced but it alfresco dining in that environment on a warm evening was a total pleasure.
The owner speaks excellent English and is a charming man, as indeed were all of the staff we encountered. There are pushbikes for hire and the owner arranged us a tuk-tuk to the bus station on our morning of departure. We weren’t blessed with good weather during our visit to Polonnaruwa but this place is very peaceful, we slept well and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent and peaceful place to stay, just lovely

Hotel is located in a wonderful location and the hotel architecture has maintained a good view from each and every room.rooms are spacious and the wash rooms are also spacious too. Hotel has to focus on safety of guests a bit more as there some risky power outs in rooms. We were in room 102 and found a spark inside of the key card slot.
Also , it’s better if the hotel can provide free accommodation for drivers as well.
