We enjoyed our stay at Floating Mountain Villa. A peaceful and intimate accommodation, the villa sits atop a hill with beautiful views and serene surroundings. The staff are amazing, very attentive and friendly. The meals were also delicious, authentic Sri Lankan dishes and high-tea spread! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Peaceful Villa with amazing food

This property really lives up to its name… with almost a picture perfect views of the mountains and hills… it really does feel like your floating on a mountain… the rooms a flower themed and even scented according to the respective flower. They’ve got plenty of activities at the villa to keep yourself entertained, including and not limited to your very own pool table. The interior decor and furniture consists of very high end s d classy pieces, my personal favorite was the majestic chandelier.

My stay at the Floating Mountain Villa

Our stay in the floating mountain villa was fabulous, unfortunately it was short and we wish we could extend more days but we had to leave.
Mr. Akila who was in touch with us direct after making our booking to check our dietary requirements and if we have any allergies, he was so helpful before reaching the villa, during the stay and after we left also. He’s absolutely amazing and professional he made us feel so special. 
I would give 10/10 for the excellent service, the cleanliness, the breathtaking view, Everything was just amazing without any exception. 
A big thank you to Mr. Gowri who was checking on us to make sure that everything is alright and also thank you the chef for making delicious food especially the omelette in the breakfast it was so tasty.
We’ll be back soon 😊

Unforgettable experience with fabulous view and excellent service !

My experience at Floating Mountain Villa was amazing. We were surprised because it looked like a hidden heaven and had a romantic atmosphere. The rooms are named after flowers, with colors varying depending on the flower. They were elegant rooms with stunning mountain views. The villa has a nice pool with a beautiful view. We had a lovely lunch, and their resident manager, Akila, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the property. The villa offers personalized service, allowing guests to stay freely and independently. A great feature is its easy access to the Pekoe Trail Chariot Path. So, come and enjoy this nice and amazing villa.

The Floating Mountain Villa is a place to relax, go for hikes, watch the beauty of the scenery around, do Yoga and more. If you look for a home away from home, it’s the place to be.

Amazing host / nature

We had a great experience at Floating Mountain Villa. 

Akila, the manager, was always helpful and accommodating. Food was superb and we had continuous flow of tea and coffee whenever and wherever we wanted. He also walked with us to close by areas such as the tea plantation and the local village, and the temple. 

Gowri, the owner, was also checking in regularly to make sure everything is in order and as desired. 

Hotel is very clean with various spaces to enjoy the day. Rooms are spacious, and has all you might need. 

The views are stunning and we actually didn't want to leave the hotel for some of the activities. 

Highly recommended to spend a few days for relaxation and make it as the base for nearby excursions in Nuwara Eliya and Kandy.

Beautiful Hotel with Excellent Service

750 metres above the Glenloch Tea Estate and accessed by hotel transfer only. Akila the butler greets you and takes care of everything. 

The views are spellbinding. I just wanted to sit and escape.  However there is so much to do from cooking to hiking to exploring waterfalls and ancient temples. 

Just 5 rooms and worth paying for the Magnolia Suite. Views to die for. 

High Tea and over all food was delicious.

An escape in the hills

This was one of the most amazing places we’ve ever stayed. The views, the landscapes, location, the facilities - all absolutely fantastic. But the clear highlight is the service, Akila is the most wonderful, kind, attentive, dedicated host we’ve ever experienced. I think it was the best service we’ve ever received! So made every moment of our trip an absolute joy - one example is he would ask us where we would like to eat and then carry around the table to a different location on the property with a different view for pretty much every meal. Whatever we wanted, he sorted. And the food from Chante was fantastic!! And the owner Gowri is also absolutely lovely.

So could not recommend this place more, everything perfect, nothing we can fault at all. Can’t wait to go back.

An unforgettable with the best service we’ve ever had

Incredible vistas, stunning location with a drop dead view of the “chariot path”
from the mythological Ramayana Trail! Peaceful & bucolic tea plantations made it simply magical, and “Akila” fulfilled my every wish and took care of me like his own mother. My first time in Sri Lanka and traveling solo, FMV was a haven of safety, and truly felt like my “home away from home”.  

In addition to perfectly seasoned vegetarian food that was organic and healthy, Akila served fresh tropical fruit and Sri Lankan tea/chai any time of the day. He ensured that everything from my laundry to my hike up to the top of the tea  plantation hill was carefully orchestrated and  I always felt like someone was watching over me, a critical component for peace of mind  when traveling alone to a different country on a faraway continent. 

I was loathe to leave this picturesque Villa and Akila’s generosity of time & spirit, along with the watchful care bestowed upon me by the owner,  remotely from Colombo. FMV has been cherry-picked as a villa on the famed  Pekoe TeaTrails so come visit before this secret gem gets on tourists radars.

This was our favourite place in Sri Lanka. Akila and his team are extra ordinary in looking after your all and every needs. Everything is absolutely spotless, the food is amazing, the rooms super comfortable with views across the valley. We went for a walk through the tea plantations from the villa, which was off the tourist track and felt like visiting the real Sri Lankan countryside. I would love to return one day and stay for longer.
