We adored our stay in Good Karma resort as the perfect, peaceful end to our holiday in what felt like luxury for a reasonable price. Staff were lovely, the spa staff talented with expert massages and the breakfast delicious. Would recommend venturing out to some of the excellent restaurants nearby for lunch/dinners 

Slice of Paradise - an oasis in South Sri Lanka

This review is based on the following substantial experience. We booked the hotel through one of the well-known booking sites at the same time as we booked 6 other hotels in SL. Before we had left the UK, but about 14 days before this booking was due  to start, the hotel contacted me though the booking website to request that I provide another credit card as the first one had been refused. I contacted CC company and they said their system showed no attempt had been made to use the card. As this happened on the last day we could cancel with no penalty, and time was running short before we left the UK, I felt I had no choice but to cancel this booking and go elsewhere. We had no problems with any other bookings made via the same well-known website. I am writing this to help other travellers.

You practilly don't see them but they still excist.Places directly on a large, deserted beach, bar/restaurant is almost on the beach. Nice rooms, very helpfull staff. Good food, nice weather. Try it, I think you will be amazed.

A (very) pleasant surprise

We had been traveling Sri Lanka for about three weeks. We drove down from Ella to the Good Karma retreat. 
This place is wonderful to relax on the beach lounges and enjoy the wonderful food and service provided by the lovely staff here. The spa is superb and very well priced for the treatment received. 
If all you want to do is relax and read a book this is the place. 
Of course you can get up in the morning and go and help the local fisherman pull in the catch of the day or if you are very lucky watch baby turtles hatch and be released to the sea. 
I thoroughly recommend Good Karma, and by the way the name says it all. 

Relaxation plus

As we bumped along in a tuk tuk from ahangama turning down these dirt roads feeling like we were in the middle of nowhere wondering and questioning what on earth we were doing we finally arrived at good karma and we were so surprised and delighted at what we had found, beautiful place away from all the hustle and bustle a place of pure relaxation we stayed one night and wish we stayed more great atmosphere and food was delicious and the rum cocktails hit the spot! You can also do day trips that they can organize for you and even a yala Safari tour without having to go and stay anywhere near yala which we thought was a much better option if we were ever to do it again as yala is such a long distance away from everywhere else. The owners were wonderful and the manager was fabulous! 

Devine 

When our taxi driver took us down a dirt road I thought where on earth are we going. As it turned out paradise on earth. 
The restaurant and swimming pool is located right on the beach and there are a few apartments. Across the road there are five private villas.

We stayed in one of the private villas, ours was incredibly intimate in the corner. It had a private pool and outside kitchen. They offer yoga classes and also there is a small gym.

The service is impeccable, we were here for four nights and it was incredible. The beach is more or less your own save maybe 5-10 other people from the hotel.

We ate in the restaurant a few times and food was good.

My now husband proposed to me here and a private dinner was organised on the beach, it was incredible and the staff did everything they could to make it as special as they could.
