I booked this place before reading any reviews on here. I was arriving late into sri lanka so just wanted somewhere near the airport that wasn't a total dive for my first night.

By the sounds of it your experience can go one of two ways at this place. I was lucky and my 'deluxe double' room was exactly that - large four poster bed, aircon, tv, a huge balcony and plenty of storage space. For the record that room was no. 10 so try and book that one if you can!

I was served a western breakfast in the morning. For people new to Sri Lanka a western breakfast = brightly coloured jam spread on as much white toast as you can eat!

This hotel is good, just make sure you request a balcony + aircon (and get confirmation in writing) to ensure you get a good room.

They also do airport transfers for about $7-10.

Decent for pre/post flight overnight - make sure you get a decent room though!

The hotel is at the end of a cul de sac off the main airport road and therein lies the problem.  We had to leave at 2.30am  to go to the airport for any early flight out.  The hotel booked a taxi that never showed up so we had to run out to the main street with all our suitcases and find a tuk tuk which was not easy to find at that time of the morning and very stressful.  The hotel itself was quite nice, set around a garden.  You could hear the planes but it wasn't too terrible.  New and well decorated, good value for the price.  A room with AC is essential though, it's particularly hot and stuffy.  The problem is that it is called Airport Villa and most people will either be arriving or leaving for a flight so they must be able to provide a reliable taxi service

Don't stay here if you have an early morning flight out but otherwise OK

They charge you many things extra on the bill, look out for these guys, and it is very noisy because the venue is at the end of the landingsfield of the airport. The place itself is spotless but the money they ask from you is way too much, the people speak very bad English and are not willing to help you with anything, only there own taxi service, witch is also much to expensive if you compare it to the normal tuk tuk or taxi services, so don't go here if you are traveling on a budget

This was the third time we have Stayed @ Airport square villa hotel , Jenith & his team are amazing , nothing is to much trouble , they can arrange pick up & drop,off for,you ,
When we arrived it was our wedding anniversary & they cooked a special meal for us, the place is spotless & comfortable, they gave us complemenrty drinks when we arrived after our journey , The food is excellent ....it takes approx 10 min to the airport ,Jenith can arrange car hire & trips , so if you are thinking of staying either before you leave or arrive I can honestly say this place comes highly recommended 😄

Visit to Sri Lanka

We had to spend a night close to the airport prior our charity mission trip to Kalutara. Rooms were wide, comfortable a spotless. The staff was very attentive and flexible to our needs, they even allowed us to keep our XL luggage there for a couple of nights while visiting the country!
