I cannot really see the reviews are matching this place...

We only statyed one night but after 2 weeks backpacking I would say this is not a good place according to Sri Lanka standards

The room, bathroom and sheets / towels were not clean. Wifi did not work probably in the room. Lamps and TV are just for show. There is no restaurant as it says on the website and the transit cost to the airport is high. 

The owner was not there before after 30 minutes and the guy in the reception did not speak english

The positive side is that the owner is very helpful and a nice guy and that it is close to the airport for an early flight, but all in all not a place I would recommend

Worse than expected

This is a belated review of Air Port Reach Villa, one of the hotels I stayed at for just one night in September towards the end of a five-week trip that ended two months ago.  My report on this hotel is not based on mere recollections, but on notes I made during the trip.

This hotel is located just 7 km from Bandaranaike International Airport.  You can get to the airport from this hotel in just 10 minutes by tuk-tuk, which makes it an excellent choice if you have an early morning flight out of Sri Lanka, as I did.  The alternative was staying in Colombo in a much more expensive hotel and then having to take a long ride from Colombo to catch an early flight.  I paid just $29 for a large double room, which also had a large, wraparound balcony with a view of the hotel's pool, as well as a large bathroom.  Breakfast was not included in the stated price, but that was not an issue for me because I had to leave the hotel the 3:45 AM (the manager actually offered me breakfast, but I declined).  The furnishings in the room and bathroom were simple but more than adequate.  The hotel WiFi was available in the room, and the air conditioning was fine.  The manager and another guy that worked with him were friendly and helpful.  The hotel is out of the way from anything, but the hotel manager arranged a short and cheap tuk-tuk ride to a surprisingly large and modern restaurant that had reasonably priced food.  The manager also arranged my tuk-tuk ride to the airport, which went without a hitch.

To sum up, I highly recommend the Air Port Reach Villa for your consideration if you want a cheap but convenient hotel to stay at when you have an early flight out of Colombo.

A Cheap But Convenient and Decent Hotel Close to Bandaranaike International Airport

Yes, you read it right - the title is a bit cliché, isn't it. But true. 

The villa consists of 4 rooms and is situated a short 10-minute drive from Colombo airport. Due to its location, travellers often stay here for their first night or, as also in our case, last night before our flight back the next day.

The villa has a nice grass garden and a lovely pool, which are both great in a warm and humid climate. The owners speak English very well for Sri Lankan standards and are very talkative and helpful. 

All 4 rooms are equipped with fan & AC. The rooms are simpel but very comfortable and clean. You may find however that some bathroom are strangely constructed, with the shower often flooding the floor or wetting the toilet due to poor drainage. But this is just a minor issue if you're staying just 1 or 2 nights.

Kitchen chef Danujaya is a super friendly guy who will take any requests for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast may be continental or Sri Lankan, same for the others. One of the hosts Sameera is especially friendly, too, coming across as a very passionate man with big dreams. He told us he wanted to go to Canada, but has been waiting for papers for a long time. This Villa is the men's business and they really put their heart and soul into it.

Would definitely come again. 100% recommended to everyone visiting Sri Lanka!

Warm Hospitality, Big Smiles & Great Food

We stayed here as a family the first and last day of our holiday. Both times we received a very warm welcome and had a nice chat with the staff about Sri Lanka. Rooms are clean and they cooked us an excellent dinner and breakfast. We really felt at ease and the staff is so friendly! Because we had an evening flight, a late check-out was not a problem and we could chill at the pool and order lunch.

Great hotel, excellent food and very friendly staff!

The rooms are very clean, the hotel is nicely decorated. The water in the swimming pool is clean as well. The service provided is excellent and exceeded expectation. The staff helped us to find nearby places that we needed (salon and pharmacy), one of the staff has also walked us around the area to show us the nearby area. 

The food is really delicoius, it was the best food we eat in Sri Lanka, (Amal) is the name of the chef who prepared our food.
 
Overall we had a very pleasent stay at this hotel and we are definatilly coming back.
