We had a great stay here! The rooms are nice and have good A/C. The host is very friendly and made us really nice breakfast. The roof terrace is amazing to relax on with an incredible view of Sigiriya Rock. Recommend!

3 night stay

Beautiful view of Sigiriya Rock from the room. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The host family is very caring and gave us amazing home made food.
The roof top is good place to sit and relax.
Recommended for family stay.

Excellent Stay and Food.

Chandi is a super nice host. He was very talkative and gave me good tips! Also he organized quite a lot of activities (elephant safari etc.) and transportation for me, and made me a very fair price! The room was clear and I had a great view on the Sigiriya Rick directly from the balcony. I highly recommend the place!

Very friendly host!

Comfortable and clean rooms with a great view of Sigiriya Rock from the balcony or rooftop. Food is excellent and lovingly prepared. The location is simply excellent - not only for the view, but also just a 15 minute walk to Sigiriya Rock entrance. The staff couldn't have been better - took care of all my needs and made travelling around the area and onwards to Kandy very very easy!

Perfectly located friendly guest house

My partner and I stumbled across this place after another hotel let us down last minute - in hindsight, I am glad they did!

Luckily, no pre booking was needed and we were offered a fantastic room at a great price. Unlike some of our other stays, this place was spotless. It smelt incredible and you could tell that it had been thoroughly cleaned. The room which we were given had a great view of Sigiriya Rock, as did the rooftop terrace.

The host, and his family, could not do any more for you. We mentioned that we wanted some beers, and they were more than happy to go out and get some for us.  We spoke with the owner's dad, Chandy, frequently and what a lovely man he was! We visited his shop daily to pick up bits that we needed and he kindly drove us to Sigirya Rock. He also was able to advise us on the best safari tour to go on. My partner and I were considering Minneriya or Kaudulla; however, after speaking to Chandy, he advised us that they can charge quite a lot and you can get a similar experience at another park. He organised the trip to Eco Park for us and we saw an abundance of elephants - exactly what we had wanted - for half the price! He even came along too and we were so pleased to have him there with us!

We have and would continue to recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Sigiriya! Well worth the visit.

A hidden gem!

Great stay... Friendly staff and owner.

Comfy rooms and really comfortable mattresses. Provides post card view of the Sigiriya Rock from the top floor.

We checked in the midnight and the owner was there to welcome us at that time of the night.

Overall great stay and keep up the spirit. 

Unplanned trips are the best 

We enjoyed our stay here, the owner is lovely! He greeted us and went through our options of what we could do for the day. He also showed us a map of lions rock etc and explained everything! All the staff were happy to answer questions and very friendly. The room was super clean with everything you need. If you walk up to the rooftop there is also a fantastic view of lions rock. The breakfast is complementary and delicious - definitely recommend this place! 

Lovely stay, friendly owner! 

We recently completed a cooking class at Lakmini Lodge on 30th December with the amazing chef Niroshan Nandana. He was able to show us how to make some amazing dishes including a chickpea starter, coconut Sambol, and 3 different curries - dhal, pumpkin and beetroot. This really was a good opportunity to see the amazing Sri Lankan food prepared up close and personal. Niroshan was really informative and friendly so was a pleasure to be able to cook (well we tried too) in his kitchen. Obviously the food was amazing so I would highly recommend doing this class if you can.

Amazing cooking class

We stayed 2 nights in very nice rooms with great view of the rock, the Food was good and the owner and staff very friendly.
They have aircondition, fan and moskyto nets. Some shops are jist 200m away. Parking available 

Great view and people

For those trying to make sense of the maps of Sigiriya, I can say that Lakmini Lodge is very well located. 2 minutes walk from Main Street in town, but far enough not to hear the noise. Then, about 10 minutes walk from main entrance to the rock.

The room was good quality, not a Hilton, but not a budget room either. Just comfortable, spacious, and exactly what you need for a good stay.
