This was the perfect guesthouse in Sirgiriya. It is clean, has very nice and helpful owners, the rooms are clean and the breakfast was one of our best in Sri Lanka. Sitting on the veranda you also have a nice view of the Sirgiriya rock, which means you can also walk to the entrance (10 min). There are also very good restaurants for dinner within 5 min by foot. In summary, if you are going to Sirgiriya, this is the perfect accommodation. 

Awesome Homestay next to the Sirgiriya Rock 

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Malaka’s family home stay.  He has just 2 rooms (quite new, very spacious and spotlessly clean), set at the back of the family property.  From the front verandah (where breakfast (and dinner, if you eat in) are served) you can enjoy the lovely garden and great views of Lion Rock.  A pretty special way to start your day!  Breakfasts are amazing (lots of food, and very good quality).  We ate in one night and highly recommend you do.  Melaka’s wife is a very good cook!  The chicken curry was the best we have eaten in Sri Lanka (lots of meat, and very little bone – usually it’s the other way around!).  The vegetable curry dishes were very good too (particularly the Okra/Lady Finger).  The Ticket Office for Lion Rock is 10-15 min walk from the home stay, and town centre (good selection of cafes & restaurants) is also a 10-15 min walk (same direction as Lion Rock, but for Lion Rock you turn off the main road).  Malaka assisted us with a tut tuk for our onward travel to Kandy (very reasonably priced).  During our stay, the most adorable little cream/brown tabby cat popped by for a visit.  It’s a neighbour’s cat, but very quiet and friendly.  Be sure to give it a pat ... it loves a head/chin rub.  I note some other guests have commented about barking dogs.  We didn’t experience this during our stay (we’ve experienced a symphony orchestra of barking dogs during the night (all night!) at other places we’ve stayed!).  Overall, excellent value for money, and we recommend.

View of Lion Rock from your verandah!

We spent two days in the amenity home stay. The room was very clean with its own bathroom and had everything we needed. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was awesome!!!! The place is very closed to all necessary sights. Definitely recommendable!!! 

Very and friendly stay in Sigiriya 

We enjoyed a lot to stay here. Great family, threir main concern is making you feel well. The food was the best so far we tasted in Sri Lanka. Place was clean and very well located. Owners can arrange anything you need.

Great place to stay!!!

Everything you want for your stay on a trip to Sigiriya. Perfect location: 10 minute walk to Lionsrock, 5 min walk to restaurants. Delighted with our stay. Large spotlessly clean rooms (in a separate block from the house) in gardens, with a beautiful view of lion rock. Large tiled very clean bathroom. Hot shower. Good WiFi. Family run. Really helpful and friendly family but also still gave us our privacy. Excellent breakfast including one given early before a very early morning trip and another to take away on our 6.30am bus to Kandy (which stops within 5 min walk of the house). Dinner in the home stay was also very good. The family helped us organise excursions (which we requested) to Polonnaruwa and a local spa and helped us negotiate reasonable rates. Air con was great. Cannot fault the place. We would definitely stay again if coming to Sigiriya.

Great Family, Great location, Great stay.

I was fascinated by this home stay and recommend to everyone. The room was as clean as I can walk around without shoes and quite big.  The host and his family were super kindful. Also, you can have a nice breakfast with awesome view as you can see in my pics.
It would be the best experience in sigiriya, I swear.

Couldn’t be better!

I highly recommend you consider staying here. We rented both rooms as there were 4 of us and it was brilliant. Rooms are en-suite and have ac. Breakfast and optional dinner are served on the terrace. Dinner was delicious. There are a selection of small restaurants, cafes and bars within a few minutes walk. You will really get a feel for the local life and people if you stay here and your money will support the local community. The family are friendly and helpful. Thank you for everything.
