Hi, terrible holiday experience, nothing corresponds to what is advertised on the internet, place not suitable for a peaceful holiday.I don't recommend this place, we ran away.there are better places always at the same price

Very bad experience.

For us it was a bad experience, dirty rooms, dirty bathrooms, poor food, fake smiles to attract customers.The breakfast food is poor, the kitchen is dirty, the tablecloths are indecent, the location is very badly managed.

Be careful of these people, their fake smile is only trying to get gifts, be careful, dirty rooms full of insects, a place to avoid.They tell invented stories to get attention and gifts. The children are innocent but the two women are terrible hunters 

Avoid this house

Chandi Gaya is situated by a beach (although the beach is not wonderful, it was very nice to walk along it) and you sleep all night hearing the ocean waves crashing on the sand. Lovely staff, helpful and carring. Breakfast by the beach in the morning. Nice budget place, truly recommended.

Brilliant place by the beach

This home stay is exactly what we wanted. Right by the sea, good clean rooms overlooking the ocean and a welcoming family that can't do enough for you. Their food is lovely, they will advise and arrange travel and will rent you their own scooter.
We left to go on safari but travelled back the following day to spend the remainder of our stay here. We will return.

I was a guest here for 3 weeks. Rooms are very clean, mattresses are very comfortable and the location is amazing. My closest
 neighbour was the Indian Ocean and to go to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing was marvellous. You will be served the best tea in Tangalle and the food is prepared by mother and daughter in a spotless kitchen. There is a very friendly vibe here and any request for food is it seems no trouble. Great breakfasts great rice and curry all freshly made . I am vegetarian but must admit the smells of freshly caught fish were very inviting. Good place for vegetarian options. Highly recommend a visit here, you will more than likely return. Chandi is a lovely lady who will greet you with a smile never to be forgotten

Fantastic in every way

Chandi and her family are very welcoming and if you need anything during your stay just ask her and she will do her best to assist.

Room was basic but comfortable and in a great central location with great view/access of beach.

Perfect

The food was great value for money, and the views of the ocean are stunning. Family owned restaurant, with authentic Sri Lanka food of great quality. The Dahl with Roti is a must for an afternoon snack. Highly recommend a visit.

We eat 2 times there :
- fresh food : everything is cooked on the moment (fish, vegetables, fresh juice) 
- great service
- great view
- typic 
- very relaxing
- very cheap compare to the rest of the country 


Great food / price / view / service 

During our three day stay in Tangalle we went to Chandi's restaurant every time. It was the best curry we had so far and we really enjoyed the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The soups and noodles are also really good. The restaurant is directly at the beach and located in a quiet area.

P.S. We're waiting for a restaurant in Germany (Stuttgart) 😁
