First of all, yes, it is a simple place to stay, but quiet and outside is decorated adorably. We stayed here for five weeks, and would gladly stay longer. The whole family is helpful, smiling, just happy people. Always nice at us. And the price for a night is reasonable comparing to other places where we asked before staying here. If you are looking for a place, where you can experience a life with srilankan family, do not hesitate and go for it, you will not regret it!

Staying with a wonderful family

We lived here from February to April. A nice guesthouse, convenient location (up to the beach 50 meters), on the second line of the road. Cleaning and breakfast/dinner on request. Lunch, by the way, very tasty. Friendly hosts. Beautiful yard, all in colors. It was very nice to live here! If we're still in Myrissa - we'll definitely stop here!

Nice, quiet place with delicious lunches!

Staying near the establishment, we just went there for Ayurvedic massages. We asked for a massage by a woman, a massage that was truly excellent and relaxing, safe and professionally done, with a remarkable price ratio! The best we ever had in Sri Lanka. Our only regret and having discovered this place was at the end of our stay, because for 20 USD 1 hour, we would have gone there several times!

Excellent massages

It's very dirty, well, very clear that for a shri lanka the cleanliness is very rare 100% but it's too much. In the bathroom this layer of dirt is not a month old, it was unpleasant to touch. Not a bed and Proto like they threw a square mattress on a rock and all, dark mosquitoes, flew under the net, tempted a lot of flies. First settled in a room on the second floor with a air conditioner we went to the beach immediately, came late it was broken, in the bathroom, we were moved to the first floor to look for a typewriter in a luxury suite. She agreed on the same price as the kids. The neighbor in the bathroom always paid for the same way down the street without the hair.

Thieves live in a barn

It's hard to find cheap and tasteful accommodation in Sri Lanka. What's amazing is that you look at, for example, booking - good, even great reviews, and you come - and it's a horror - horror)) Who writes them? Bribed guests? or hackers owners? Here we settled, before suffering, after inspection. We lived for three weeks! Restricted non-invasive hosts, privacy - a large terrace cover from which you can communicate with wild peacock, iguana, palm trees, rare monkey-running on the roofs of neighboring trees and monkeys.

We found a convenient place to stop after a week of customs.

I gave a very good grade for Mount Garden five years ago, and I was three times there in the meantime, but unfortunately I can 't confirm the warm, relaxed atmosphere.

Unfortunately, this is not the case.

I've been on vacation in Mrissa for a few days and today I came to this hotel for a massage. After the massage, I went to take a shower and wash the oil. I left my bag and things in the room with the guy who was doing the massage, and there was also his father! After the shower I wanted to give the guy some tea, but when I opened the wallet I saw that some money was missing: $100 and 10,000 rupees. And some money was left, apparently, so I wouldn't notice the theft immediately. I called the police, but they couldn't help. Don't go and don't stop at this hotel because they could steal your money too.

Be careful with the lies!

We originally booked three nights and checked out after the first! 

Where do I start... blood on the table, sand in the shower/bathroom. Broken bed, pillows felt like a bag of broken cement. Holes in the fly net, dirty sheets!!!! There was evidence the sheets were not washed as there were some white stains on the brown sheet we had been given! And last but not least, a peep hole in the ceiling, or what seemed to be one.

We were really keen to do a cooking class in Sri Lanka and were so happy we happened upon this place! It was 100% authentic, held in the back kitchen of the guesthouse and was just the two of us! We were so lucky to have this experience and the food was amazing. 

This is a relatively new undertaking they are doing and as such we had to write down the recipes ourselves but they told us beforehand to bring paper and pen to do this. It is also not a hands-on class - we didn't do the cooking - just observed. However being in such a genuine situation and having just the two of us for this meant that it exceeded our expectations of what we thought we would find in Mirissa. 

Oh and the food was just delicious. And she especially adjusted the spice level to suit us so our tongues were burning deliciously, but not over-the-top!

Amazing Cooking Class

Good location, just off the main road, quiet but still close to the beach. 
Rooms were quite basic. Had large A/C room but no light in the bathroom so had to have very quick showers after sunset! Clean, good mosquito net. Hard pillows (as everywhere). 
Very good whale watching tour tips!
Breakfast was very basic - if you like your fried eggs covered in pepper this is the place to come. 
Very accommodating with flexible length of stay and arranged a car/taxi service for us to take us up to Sinharaja rainforest with short notice and the most careful driving we experienced in Sri Lanka! This was quite good as the roads in the hills are very windy.
