this was the most disgusting hotel experience in my life time.we stayed two nights in this place,from the day we checked in they didn't clean the rooms,didn't change the bed sheets, or towels(for two days),no drinking water bottles in the rooms.they have mentioned everywhere but no hair dryers,or a bin in the bathroom.

when we wanted to settle the bill,the person who was in the reception was drunk,and he wanted us to pay a special service charge for there pathetic service,when we didn't even see there faces from the day we checked in,but when we complained 
about it what what they said was that this is not a hotel this is home stay.so please think twice before booking this place.

One of the worst place to stay in Tissamaharama

We stayed here one night before going to Yala and loved it.
We were looking for an affordable stay in Tissa and the City Guest House was perfect. The rooms were absolutely fine for the price you pay. 
Furthermore, the family that runs the guest house was really friendly and helped us with all our questions. They welcomed us with a yummy free fruit juice and they also cooked us a great traditional dinner for only Rs 450 per person. They even get up at 4 a.m. to prepare breakfast for you before the Safari!
Unfortunately, arriving in Tissa, we had already booked a safari online. But we learned that the Safari the City Guest House was offering was a lot cheaper.



Great Host - Good Price

Very nice guesthouse. Clean, perfect location, just a few minutes walking from the bus station  and the center of Thissa. Very friendly manager, he received us with fresh lemon water , give us our room at 10.30 when we arrived , take care of us in a very polite and nice way. And even his mother prepared for us a geat dessert, traditional Buffalo curd before we went.
I would recommend this place to anyone.
They do also safaris, but we cannot comment on that because we've booked before by internet with a safari operator, but I'm sure they are great.

Very friendly family who run this guest house. They helped us arranged Safari at a very reasonable price and good jeep driver. Owner's son is very helpful and we were very impressed by his friendly service.we had Sri Lanken dinner there, cooked by the grandma and mother, food was very delicious and great value. Would recommend this guest house.

Very friendly and helpful family hotel!

We stopped here for 1 night before a safari tour we arranged with this hotel. Very comfortable rooms with much needed air con. It was so hot in Tissa!
The guest house is run by a family who are very helpful. Special mention for the young  son who checked us in. Very smart and an asset to this place!
Had a delicious meal there in the evening. A great hotel, highly recommended.
