Stayed at this place for 2 nights. Location is perfect and lady is nice. Rooms are spacious. But..... I don’t think a lot of tourists stayed there in the last couple of months because of the blasts in April. That is a pitty. When this place is occupied it will be maintained but now it was very poor.

Good place but needs maintenance

A short walk from the main road but very quiet. Good access to safari trips and tuk tuk services.
Spacious grounds with an outside patio area to each of the well appointed rooms.
Warm family welcome.
Excellent food.

Spacious yet intimate

We arrived here after a few very busy days of traveling. The tuk tuk driver brought us here after the bus dropped us off on the side of a road. It's 3-5km into the town from the bus stop on the Matara bus. The guesthouse is extremely relaxing. The bedroom and bathroom which we had was large. We had a patio and comfortable chairs. We chose fan but I would recommend AC as it gets very hot - tropical weather. The gardens are well maintained and the whole place feels nice. They helped us to organise our safari to Yala. We had an excellent driver who did not follow the crowd and spotted a lot for us. The owners of this guesthouse are lovely. The man is really nice to talk to and is very chilled out. 

Relaxing and Wonderful

Ok so - we didn't actually stay here as we'd already booked to stay at hotel camorich round the corner but we ate at Regina both nights we stayed in Tissa. They made an amazing range of veg curries that were so good we came back on our second night too, after doing the Yala safari. Ranjit and his family are so lovely, we had a really nice couple of evenings having beer and food outside and chatting with them. I'd recommend eating here to anyone in debarawewa whether staying at Regina or nearby.

The bedroom and bathroom were huge, but not very tidy and the bed was uncomfortable. We chose this hostel because of its prize, location. We didn't expect much, so we wern't really disappointed but we stayed at many places were we had breakfast included for the same prize and they also were a lot cleaner. I would recommend this place if you're travelling on low budged and don't really care about comfort. A good thing is, that the staff is really friendly and the house is in walking distance to the bus station. The owner organized a trip to Yala for us which was a bit prizey but good.

Alright for one night

Although the room and bathroom where spacious, it was not very clean, even for Sri Lankan Standards. 
The fan worked well and the sitting area outside was nice. We had even dinner, which wasn't very tasty (but maybe that's just our opinion) and rather overpriced. 
The hosts where quite nice, but  wanted to convince us to go to Yala national park, which was annoying because we wanted to go to Bundala. 
We only stayed for one night, so it was ok.
