Nomen est omen! Really peacefull atmosphere with a perfect local restaurant! The meal portions are huge, you can not even eat, only if you are an elephant…:)) 
The bungallows are more than comfortable and there is a nice swimming pool! It is supposed to stay there!!

Place to calm down

We arrived when it was raining. The approach road is through the fields, which during no rains may be lovely. For a place used to the rains, the place is not equipped to handle it. The paths are slushy and slippery. It didn't occur to them to put a few stone slabs on the slush to prevent slipping. The rooms are basic. Flushes and showers don't work well. Food at the restaurant is good but their packed breakfast for safari is terrible. Dry sandwich and fermented fruit! 
The manager was outright rude. He fawns over anyone that looks like a foreigner though! The staff tries to be helpful but aren't conversant with English. 

Overall I wouldn't recommend this place, especially during the rains. 

Not worth the trudge 

Our 10th night in Sri Lanka and our absolute favourite place. It literally is a slice of heaven.  
The views are fantastic, cabin clean and comfy, swimming pool ace.
Get up early, 6.30am to see the peacocks and eagles and an array of other birds. Having breakfast atm looking at waterbuffalo in nearby fields. 
Treat yourself and stay here. You won't regret it. Oh, and the food is great 👍 

Slice of heaven 

Stayed 2 nights here. Outside the developed main road area with a  pool, very green, scenic area with birds everywhere, great cook at the restaurant on the property.  Good-sized unique clay cottages! Visited Yala National Park while I was here. Saw a leopard!

Rural stay by Yala National Park

Very nice and calm place to relax and start the safari tour. The cottages are equipped with everything you need, clean and have a comfortable bed with mosquito net. Great pool in the garden! The host is very nice and taking care of his guests. He speaks very well English and German. We would definitely recommend to go there! 

Calm and cozy place near Yala National Park!

Thanks a lot mandju! This place is the best for families. We stayed 2 nights and appreciated every minutes of it. Nice food, nice place and nice pool. Perfect place to go to yala natural Parc. Everybody was friendly and the kid were really happy. 

Family trip to yala natural parc

Room is just amazing in a beautiful environment. We have enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool,it was so nice! Personal are very kind, it's the best place to rest and enjoy a day and evening before a safari trip. You have to stay here!

Wonderful experience in this hotel

We are a French couple that just spent 2 days at the cottage, tenant was really helpful and the place is so peaceful in the middle of nature and peacocks everywhere on the trees. We really enjoyed the swimming pool especially after safari and the calm surroundings.

Perfect yala park base

We were stay two nights in Yala Peace Cottage. It's realy eco friendly and peaceful environmental place. Foods are very tasty and cleanness is very high. The owner Manju and his staff is very helpfull and nice.
If someone hopes to visit Yala Thissamaharama or Katharama I'm highly recomand this place to stay and enjoy.

Best place to stay

Very nice place!
The cottages are big, have airconditioning, good showers and nice beds. It’s in the middle of nature, very close to Yala National Park and other must sees. You just hear the birds and peacocks. Do an early morning walk and enjoy the sunrise!
