Cute garden and houses from the outside. Our cottage was dirty and the furniture old and not comfortable. Mould in the shower, dirty sink etc. The room did not seem to have been cleaned by the host after the prior guests. Equipment like coffe machine and microwave were old and not fresh. 
In the garden there is a pond where a soda can was floating. Not very charmy.
No Corona safety like hand sanitizer or cleaned door knobs.

Dirty and overpriced.

The owner is nice and friendly and that's the only thing good about this place!

The hot water in the shower is on timer and you can only have less than 10 minutes to shower which is RIDICULOUS! and you have to wait for another 10 minutes for the water heater to comeback again.

There is a BIG SIGN in the bathroom about HOT WATER !

The owner will charge you $$$ if you don't clean your room and make your own bed. You also have to bring your own toilet paper!

Not enough space to move when you have plenty of luggage! 

I didn't have a good impression with Villa Sol.

I would like to recommend this place for everybody who want to stay in Borgholm and looking for good location, caring host, very clean apartment and added values to enjoy stay as much as possible (one of our friends was playing a guitar which we found in a sitting-room, as I understand there is a plan that sooner or later there will be and piano). We spend our evening in huge terrace on a second floor were we could stay as long as we wanted. There were no problems with check inn or check out. Thank you very much fir the host and wish you goodluck in your business. :)

Good service, location and very nice apartment.

Ylva is the host & owner - a very nice, warm person who cares about the comfort of her guests. Ylva is a very good, well-informed conversationalist, speaking excellent German and English in addition to her native Swedish. Villa Sol is a good value. Another reviewer used the word "authentic" to describe Villa Sol. It is. We stayed in the lovely old house across the street from the office. It is 100 years old, but is well appointed, spacious and comfortable with good common areas (kitchen and sitting room). Our room's bath/toilet facilities were very adequate and clean. The beds were comfortable. The room cost was attractive and competitive in an otherwise quite expensive country (Sweden). Ylva shared plenty of good information about eating/dining options in Borgholm. You can cook in the big  kitchen, but you'll probably dine out. There are some nice options. The island itself is very quiet, beautiful, large and peaceful. It's really low key and relaxing, but worth a visit. Because Borgholm is situated in the middle of the island's N-S length, Villa Sol is a good place to overnight. We enjoyed our stay very much.

A very pleasant stay at Villa Sol, on Oland

We stayed in one of the cottages when we visited from the USA.  Villa Sol is centrally located on the island of Oland which made it easy to visit the whole island and Kalmar. It is in a quiet, garden setting.  The owner was responsive to all of our emails. She was delightful and quite helpful.

Wonderful location and host

We stayed at Vila Sol on a recent trip to Borgholm. We really enjoyed our stay. 

The host was wonderful and very trusting throughout our stay. Although due to our different comings an goings during our stay we didn't get to meet, we were telephone before, during and after our stay to ensure that we had all the information and comforts we needed. 

The rooms were very warm and spacious and there is a large kitchen, dining and lounge area. The bathrooms were modern and clean. 

The house is a short 10 minute walk into the main marina and shopping centre where there are plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants - just check their opening hours as they are limited compared to other cities and countries. 

The Vila Sol has free wifi and plenty of street parking. Bedding etc comes at an extra cost. You can save money by cleaning your own room which isn't hard if you are just stopping over for the night. Otherwise there is a cleaning fee. 

Overall we were very happy with our stay.
