Fantastic food, the räksläden was excellent as was the fries. We also had pizza with very thin crust. Can really recommend! It didn’t hurt that the staff was very friendly and professional.

Accommodation is booked trough ski star. The number of days and which days you can check in and check out is limited. They offer hotel rooms, apartments and rooms with kitchenette. Breakfast is included for hotel and kitchenette guests. The reception is only open on the day you check in/out.

It is right next to Duved city center with grocery store, ski shop, restaurants and other shops. Ski lift starts from across the street next to the Ski buss if you want to go in to Åre. Cross country tracks starts yeast 150m down the street. The train station is 150 m down another road.

The place could use some polish, but is well kept, fresh and clean. The breakfast doesn’t have a lot to chose from but offers everything most people wold eat at home.

If you travel by train, split your time or family between alpine and cross country skiing and want to make your own pack lunch this is the place for you.

Great value for money 

This is a Skistar owner hotel where you book either Su-Th or Th-Su. You cannot book single nights. It is rather cheap compared to other hotels in the area. Situated in Duved, the little brother to Årem, and a good 10 kilometer ride away, making it rather quiet. Or actually tombstone quiet. this is not the place for people looking for apres ski or any night life whatsoever. To really experience Åre and ghe skiing you need to leave Duved, luckily there is a free skibus. The station is right outside. Or you can step right outside and take the lift up to the Duved skiarea. Which is quite good actually.

Åre as a ski resort actually lives a lot on the reputation of its high altitude area. But you should be aware of the fact that that area is often closed due to weather conditions. The last time we went skiing in Åre it was constantly closed. Also the slopes attract a lot of the in-crowed who saldy know nothing abount skiing. Making it a gung ho accident prone skiing experience.

The hotel feels dated and abandoned. There is an awkard silence around the hotel making it a rather gosthly stay. They lack proper routines for maintaining the rooms. When we arrived the soap were finished and the tele rebooted itself all the time. There are no cleaning or towel chabge during the stay. Overall there are never any staff in the hotel other than in the restaurant. The breakfast is a sad joke. Horrible scrambled eggs, boiled eggs (fine), some bread, some cheese and porridge. Coffe/tea and juice. Well that's besically it. 

Skistar really need to do a big overhayl of the whole hotel here or explicity go for the self catering concept. Now you might get the impression this is a normal hotel and it is not.

Dated budget hotel

A lot of things seem to be outdated and really need some refreshing in the hotel. Bathroom was definitely in a need for renovation and the same applies for sauna. The personal was very helpful, especially in the restaurant / breakfast room. It would not however harm if quests could get more towels, considering type of the hotel. 
There is a ski lockers' room on the first floor, but it is very narrow and to get there I had to go through the main entrance since the door out was closed. The parking lot was right outside and it was enough space there. The breakfast had very limited selection of meats and only boiled/scrambled eggs as hot dishes, the coffee was very good though. It was also very crowdy in the breakfast room right after opening. May be the hotel can consider to open breakfast earlier? On the positive side, the hotel was very quiet and the guests were normal family people.

Quiet, but outdated

Wow so fantastic and it is amazing and view very nice with snow mountains and I advice all people's to come and visit it but in these days because winter nice here you can go for mountain and skateboard there and do many things and also Åre it is nice place .
