Really nice Scandi Style room with terrace next to the sea. It's surrounded by the beautiful myriad of island of the Swedish west coast archipelago. The warm and attentive staff made us feel very welcome and taken care of. The seafood is terrific!

Fantastic location in the archipelago

In all our years never stayed in such a bizarre building. Coming home to Norway, via Sweden we checked Booking.Com for an nice overnight hotel, and thinking with such fantastic summer weather be nice to eat and drink alongside the sea in a charming Swedish seaside resort. Villa Port Sud looked like it fit the bill. Location, busy restaurant, bar, deck along the water front. At almost 1400 NOK a night, not cheap.
We arrived and my mouth dropped open. Everything looked dead. Restaurant locked up, deck around the building and what should have been filled with people enjoying the amazing weather also dead. Everything needed a high pressure wash, weeded, cleaned. Flower pots out. A group of mature bikers turned up same time as us, and we entered what looked like a hostel corridor for teenagers. Hot, not fresh. A young lady told us we would be sleeping up stairs. We followed her into an office area up some spiral stairs to a conference room. My mouth dropped further....this WAS NOT a hotel. We were shown into a room without bathroom or TV, but I will add the room was very nice, and the conference room was 'nice', with big balcony. There was a TV we could watch in the conference room, and a bathroom in the hall.
I have NEVER EVER seen such a weird set up. We were told we had free range of the upstairs conference room, and we could lock the office door below so nobody would come up.
My sleep was very light the whole night, because I didnt feel completely comfortable, and even felt a little unsafe.
Breakfast, just was the most bizarre ever. DIY. When we arrived, the biker guests had just left. There were no clean cups, glasses or plates, and we had to wash up from what they used. Was a very small and basic selection of food. Opened the fridge to find almost nothing. Orange juice was in a small box, concentrated that we couldn't open because no sissors. Frying pan left in the sink, cupboard and fridge badly needed cleaning. Glass doors could have been opened to deck and waterfront but all locked. Nobody was working there, it really was DIY and leave. I have stayed in 100's of hotels all over the world, but never ever stayed in such a strange place. The price is well OVER CHARGED, Infact ridiculous. Not even worth 600 NOK a night. Also seriously needs an inspector to come along and check for hygiene. My advice, find somewhere else. Sad, because could be super! 
There was nowhere to get anything to eat or drink in Skarhamn other than the kebab shop end of road, NOT what we had in mind.
