This camping is a rather small one on the border of a lake, just outside town. All amenities clean and well kept. 

Close to the site is a former iron works that is interesting to visit and which reminds you of the forlorn days of mining iron ore and making a burdensome profit out of that. The house of the factory manager oversees both the campsite and the factory. 

Beautiful camping in brilliant scenery

Stayed here for 2 nights as we make our way North with our caravan and Martin the owner made us more than welcome.

We chose a place down by the side of the lake with a really nice view while on the other side of the lake stood in a field was a British Telecom Phone Box!

While less than 5 minutes away (By foot) is a very interesting Iron Works now disused but being restored and at times open to the public. It also has pictures and descriptions outside for when it is closed describing what went on there.

Great place to stay with a very logical owner

Due to heavy rain, my boyfriend and I stayed in the hostel instead of camping outside and we didn't regret it. We had a nice room with a bunk bed, a sink, a table and a chair. There are two well-equipped kitchens that one can use as hostel guest, as well as a big room to hang out downstairs and a living room with a TV upstairs. Toilets and showers were perfectly clean and had a nice note to them to report if something was broken or missing. The owner of the campsite speaks German and he is very nice.
The site has a lake to it where you can surely go for a nice swim in summer and do a boat trip. Filipstad is in walking-distance and it is worth seeing too.
In total, we liked the stay very much.
