We had a fabulous stay is this wonderful authentic place.
From the minute we walked in were treated so well & they couldn’t do enough for us.
Our room was great & this old castle is just glorious. Every room is special & it is so lovely to eat breakfast upstairs. The 3 course dinner was absolutely delicious.
We spent 2 nights here & it was definitely the highlight of our time in Sweden.

Highlight of our Sweden holiday

Excellent place, very unique, 5 star dinner downstairs and very good service too! Best would be to spent some more time than just one night in order to get into the castle feeling and history. Still very nice way to make kind of a "time travel"  Please forget Wi-fi and TV when you stay here.

TIME TRAVEL

We had a room in the annex, which was lucky since that put us much farther away from the traffic noise.  Lovely antique furniture and paintings, even in the modern annex building.  The bed was comfortable, but the tap water wasn't too tasty, as it came from a private well that according to a sign in the bathroom was in danger of drying up!  Breakfast was served upstairs in the old castle, which was very attractively furnished in an eclectic style (mixture of Renaissance, Rococo, and neo-Viking).  The breakfast itself was very good, though not exceptional.  There is a golf course right next to the hotel.

Comfortable room with "free museum"

We had a memorable experience at this property.  It is family run. Wonderful restaurant.  My kids met the chef and customized their own meal after 10 days on the road.  They said it was the best meal of their whole trip.  We were upgraded to a beautiful suite we will never forget.  So many beautiful rugs and old books to peruse makes for an interesting historical stay in Granna.  Away from the busy tourist town it is quiet and beautiful with views of the lake.

Wonderful Family Run with tons of History

Spent a weekend here. The drive to the castle was very scenic, specially like the small village Röttle nearby with a small but beautiful waterfall. A pleasant surprise! We stayed in one of the two suites, suite #1. Very roomy and quite nicely decorated, though the walls were made of canvas so be careful and not pressing it. The bathroom needed renovation, and the floor was cold and uncomfortable when it was cold (floor heating would be nice that is quite standard in hotels in Sweden). We did not see the other suite #4, but from the photos it looks better. Had a dinner package there. Food was decent, but was a set menu without alternatives. No free choices of wines either, which was a bit strange. Anyway, pleasant experiences though it is not among the top castles we have stayed in Sweden.

Small castle with beautiful surroundings

Me and my entourage (6 friends and 2 babies) stayed for one night and absolutely loved it! This castle has a extremely well preserved atmosphere and interior, not new and over designed but more of a genuine feeling. We stayed in three rooms in the actual castle and each room had its own expression. I stayed in room nr. 2 and can really recommend it, lovely bathroom overlooking the greenery, great bed and overall nice vibes. There is a lot of public spaces in the castle where you can hang around and a lot of details you won't find elsewhere and at night there is live candles everywhere!! We had the luxury to have our 3 course dinner with wine package in the wine cellar which was perfect regarding our two babies who needed to join us. the food and wine was great and we had an amazing dinner. The staff is very accommodating, polite and friendly. I love this castle and would definitely stay here again!
