The cabine were nice, clean and cosy. The staff was really friendly. Good guide during our tours and they use all small local companies. The food is delicoous. And the location is great, next to the river.  We enjoyed our trip with @voigttravel in Kukkolaforsen a lot!!!

IT WAS AMAZING

We didn’t stay at the hotel/camping, but did visit for dinner and a walk.
It’s a really lovely area and incredibly beautiful.
Dinner was good, not exceptional, but good. Slightly pricey.
The museum and art galleries on the grounds were all lovely!

“Worth a visit mainly for the grounds”

The (very small) tentground not marked at all at att spot, even though very important for the staff were You put the tent, so You risk beeing asked to move your tent afterwards. Small cottages paint falling of the outside walls, giving poor impression. 
On the good side is a nice playing ground for young ones, a nice kitchen, and a very nice location concerning the roaring river.

Stunning surroundings where the river's white water is right at your sight and your hear the humming of the water.
Prices are reasonable, the place is well kept and all the amenities are modern. Mixed sauna, open for all at any time. No additional charge. However since there was a lot of snow, the doors of the saunas were not opening.

Plenty of outdoor stuff to do (ice fishing,fat biking, sledging) and possibility to "hop" between Finland and Sweden e.g. by visiting Tornio by car or by crossing the frozen river as we did :D

Breakfast and lunch buffet including local delicacies. Breakfast price currently at 80 kronor and lunch for 155 kronor.

Plenty of outdoor stuff to do (fishing, white water rafting, hiking, biking) and possibility to "hop" between Finland and Sweden e.g. by visiting Tornio.

Idyllic place right by the river

In mid-June we were the only people sleeping in a tent. We liked the facilities offered at the camping - big, light kitchen, with refrigerators for the use by guests and lot of tables to sit around. Just next to the kitchen is one of the saunas (all included in the price) - we liked it as it was still cold in Finland. Showers and toiles were very clean.

Location is very nice, just at the river bank with the view to Kukkolaforsen (cascades on the Torne river). There's a small fishing museum and also a restaurant in the reception house. We paid 270 SEK per night for 2 persons, a tent and a car at the camping site. Good value.

Staying at the campsite

We spend four nights at Kukkolaforsen with good friends in July. it's a great place, food is excellent and staff is very friendly and welcoming. lots of activities and interesting things to see and do while you are there. And you are only on hour away from the Polar circle so there is light all night during summertime. haparanda is only 30 minutes away. Going here will give you a unique experience off the beaten track
