This hotel was recommended in our guide but we were most disappointed. It was really expensive for the service provided : small rooms, sauna cold when I tried to use it, table tennis broken... The only positive was the free rental of skis that my husband and son enjoyed.  I would not recommend.

Very disappointed

Nice hôtel for a one night stay on the way to the north of Sweden.
Bedrooms and common areas were confortable and clean. 
There are also a few facilities that you can use as the sauna, ping pong table and a pool table.

People are doing their best to serve customers. The welcoming is "Nordic" but always respectful and careful.

The only inconvenient part is the noise, that could 
disturb people that are sensitive to it.



Nice place of the northern road

We came to Jokkmokk on a cold September day and were pleased with this somewhat old-fashioned hotel. Very pleasant young people working at he front desk and dining room. A couple of things—nice bastu/sauna (but the women’s was locked—men’s was great) and get to the dining room at six—by a quarter to seven almost everyone had eaten and the restaurant was running out of potatoes (maybe Swedes just love their potatoes!)

Lovely setting energetic young staff

The location was somewhat perfect. The room wasn’t so fresh. Under the toilet seat there was dirt , stains on the bed throws and decorative pillows. There was a lot of dust on the ventilation fans and the room was very warm (30degrees Celsius) as it was outside.
The personnel was friendly but not updated, they didn’t ask for feedback and when we asked where we can complain they said that we just have to write on the card envelope, without asking the matter of complaining.
When it was dinner time , we wanted to taste the local Sami plate they have to offer, the waiter/receptionist recommended strongly the buffet as he said it was the same... it wasn’t, it was dry and tasted bad. We where forced to try something in a local restaurant in order to satisfy our hunger.
The breakfast was typical continental , quite good.
The overall experience was bad and it’s a shame because the hotel is in a good location .


Disappointed 

Stayed here for a night on a group tour. The room was a bit small but not really an issue. While toiletries were a bit more basic, remember you are north of the Arctic Circle. The hotel is on Lake Talvatis. It is near the old church [limited hours] and not too far from the main drag. The fare at the Talvatis restaurant was a buffet. I enjoyed the appetizer items more than the main course options. The breakfast was fine. There is a well stocked bar. A pool table was available. A feature in the restaurant was a number of pelts and taxidermic pieces. It was an enjoyable stay in a quiet part of town.

VERY PLEASANT NIGHT AND SETTING

Visited as part of a package trip for one night. Luggage transported to/from Inlandsbanan train station while we walked the modest distance between station & hotel.

Hotel is quite big and many rooms overlook the lake and grounds. Lovely setting.

Didn’t try the restaurant for dinner but the food did look good. Breakfast was very good, buffet style as is common in Sweden.

Room spacious and had all we needed. It was quite quiet. 

Bar area didn’t stay open very late and was had to move out of the area when they closed. The restaurant also does not do lunches.

Beautiful location, good breakfast 

We stayed at this hotel as a group package on their web site they describe it as a “contemporary hotel” which it certainly is not it is very dated and the bedroom we had was little better than a hostel,curtains that did not fit, lights falling off wall in a position that stopped you being able to site up in bed, very poor furniture,extremely basic bathrooms, rusty radiator and window air vent very dirty 

The buffet dinner was basic with limited selection and only 2 hot dishes both meat with no fish option and only one desert.

The staff were not helpful and didn’t seem to care

It is a shame as this hotel is in a fantastic location right in the lake and has the potential to be much better if it was refurbished and the staff had a better attitude 

Beautiful location poor hotel

My wife and I stayed at this small hotel beside Lake Tavatis recently as a part of a larger tour group - and thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We had a large twin room with a partial view of the lake and immediately felt most comfortable. The bedlinen looked inviting, while the bathroom was very clean, plenty off towels and loads of hot water.
We enjoyed a superb buffet dinner in the evening, with all sorts of things on offer, from salads to meatballs, fish to different kinds of potatoes and the orange of salads was simply amazing! The dishes were constantly replenished as they became empty. All this was served in the restaurant overlooking the lake. The restaurant was also decorated with stuffed animals from the region - wolves, bears and so on. 
We also enjoyed an excellent breakfast the next morning, with again a great selection of food to suit most tastes.
The staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly at all times and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
