This apartment hotel is in the perfect location in Marstrand, less than 100meters from the ferry. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is older but clean and well taken care of. Kichen has everything you need to prepare meals. Tge living dining area is very spacious but the view from room 204 couldn’t be beat, facing the harbour and ferry. Massive deck with chairs that in better weather would have been wonderful to enjoy all that natural beauty. There is an outdoor pool, indoor sauna and billiards room. Great place for a relaxing getaway on Marstrand

Incredible View in well equipped flat

The location, just to the left when you exit the ferry, is excellent. Good restaurant with very good lunch, huge seafood platters for dinner and an OK, but not great breakfast, is managed by Cecilia who does a good job of making you feel welcome. A nice bar, with very good drinks mixed by a professional bartender!

The hotel is really appartments that are let out, and while our sea-view room had a nice view it’s a bit worn down and has a strange layout, with a pentry in the middle, large storage room, and a cleaning cabinet. Maybe more designed for staying and living there for a few weeks, than for a shorter hotel stay? 

Good location and very nice staff make up for slightly booring rooms

The Fish and Chips are super! The chips are good, but the fish is fantastic!  White, flaky fish in an absolutely crispy ‘London Batter’ is just too good to miss! Forget soggy, this is crispy right to the end.

The Restaurant Storm

This review is for the restaurant Storm. It all started badly. We made reservation for 20.00. When we arrived the waiter said that we were one hour late and that the kitchen was closed and that the reservation was gone. We explained that we had made the reservation for 20.00, no one made any remarks that this would be late, or that this was the time that the chef went home.
But we got a table, and were informed about what we could eat since we were late.
We had the burger and the fish and chips. I was told that the fish was cod, should have asked where it was fished. I thought it was from the local fishermen. It wasn't. This was a pre-made fish and chips and so was the burger. So the food could basically have been served at sibylla. The bar was open though well after 20.00.
The thing that gives this place 2 out of 5 is the interior in the restaurant.
Would I come back or recommend this place? No, they have a lot to work with in the kitchen and with their service.

Restaurant Storm

The staff in reception are more than helpful!  The views from the rooms toward the harbour are unique.  The prices are hight but the the rooms are clean, maybe a bit dated but pleasant and comfortable.  Food in the restaurant is good, not cheap but not expensive compared to other restaurants on the island.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and area for diy grill.  Superb.

Excellent location

We were 2 adults and 2 children, and had an apartment-style room on the top floor with a magnificent view over the castle in one direction, and the harbour in another direction.  Overall, a very comfortable stay.

The good:
- just a stone cast from the incoming ferry, and conveniently situated for the whole of Marstrand.
- clean, well kept, and comfortable beds.
- a good hotel restaurant with a great view and staffed during the day.
- a fairly good selection for breakfast.

The not so good:
- the apartment rooms on the top floor are quite small.  Not tiny, but not particularly spacious.
- there are 4 single fixed-position beds, 2 to a room, which is fine - but a bit different for couples accustomed to sleeping in a double.
- no windows in the bedrooms and no air conditioning, which was also a bit different. We had a side window, which on the top floor allows for a fairly good draft, but I would be hesitant if the weather was particularly warm.
- a fairly small bathroom and shower.  And we all felt the toilet leaned to one side ;)
- hotel parking is about 1km from the ferry :/

Still, we enjoyed ourselves and felt very much at home in our cozy little apartment suite!

Great location, great view, decent standard

The Villa Maritime hotel is a quaint nautical themed hotel. We checked-in during the offseason and the staff was very friendly and understanding. We had called multiple times right before arriving regarding parking and they were very friendly in explaining where we could and couldn't park. When we thought we couldn't make it by time the office closed they offered to have a key waiting for us at the ferry. Overall, they were very accommodating.
As for the rooms, they were a little retro, but, clean and inviting. It is by no means a luxury hotel, but, since these are apartments they were very homey and contained everything you needed for a nice stay. There is nice views in the front rooms overlooking the little harbor area, but, we stayed in the back rooms since we needed a double bed. 
The hotel also contains a restaurant that gave us a nice dinner with some candle light ambiance. During the offseason there is not a lot open, so this was a welcome option for us. 
The hotels location is prime in Marstrand since it is right off the ferry to the right. Very convenient since there is no cars on the island. You can park by the dock and then just have a short walk to the ferry and to the Villa Maritime.
As for the island, it is awesome. We had a great time walking the trails around the island. There are beautiful views everywhere of sailboats, light houses, rock formations, babbling little streams. It was a beautiful walk that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. There is also a historic fortress that was closed in the offseason, but, still very nice to walk around. 
Almost forgot. As part of the stay they give you breakfast in our room. Since it was the offseason they had one waiting in the fridge for us. It was a good basic breakfast, and was very nice to eat in the room in the morning.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to thank the Villa Maritime for their hospitality.
