The kitchen is dated, dirty and grotty. I made a cup of tea upon arrival and felt the kitchen and its utensils were unclean. I was totally put off my tea by the state of the kitchen.

We were asked to make our beds ourselves with bedsheets left folded. And thank god we were, because as we made our beds we found a stale chip in one bed and a beetle bug in the other.

There is no physical staff on site which makes it very difficult to resolve any matters quickly. I called a number through bookings and was put through to a third party outsourced company as it was late (10pm). They offered us a different room which we accepted on the condition we would inspect the beds before fully accepting. While the operator was on the phone we inspected the beds of the second room only to find a leech type worm in the bed. 

The only solution they could offer was a third bed but at this point we were not happy to stay here at all. So we took all our things and walked into the -40°C night to find alternative accommodation.

This place is unclean, I do not recommend staying here at all.

BUGS AND WORMS IN BEDS - DO NOT STAY HERE

Stayed here with my husband for three nights. Typically Scandinavian in design. It's a hostel so amenities are basic - you make your own bed, code entry for main door and room door, shared bathrooms. But as long as you understand that you will have a perfectly enjoyable stay like we had. The whole place is very clean. Rooms are compact but comfortable, and very well soundproofed. Well stocked kitchen and vending machine for drinks and snacks. Free coffee and tea is a lovely touch. Ideal location in the centre of Lulea. Decent value for money (nothing is cheap in Sweden!). Would happily stay here again.

Very clean, modern, good value for money

Hostel is clean and tidy, but I cannot still believe I paid 60 Euro for a room with no windows and no bathroom. Room is just a bed and a side table. Bathroom is shared among all guest and there is no breakfast of cafeteria. Maybe this price is due to the lack of rooms in Lulea, but it is definitely the most expensive hostel I have ever been. 
I didn't check Airbnb, but maybe you can find a better deal there. 
By the way, the hotel is totally automatic. You do self check in and self check out. I didn't see any hotel staff in three days.

Too simple

There is a bus stop right outside which is ideal. Door code to get access through the door and into your own room. It was very white and light inside, with no windows which was a bit disorienting. It felt clean, and sterile. There weren’t many people around. The reception desk wasn’t manned very much. Additionally, there was no “safe” place to leave my bags, only behind the unmanned reception desk. However, staff were friendly and helpful when they were around. 

The kitchen didn’t have any can openers. The ovens were really difficult to use, and there were no instructions. There was a large TV and also a seating area, however the chairs were fixed to the floor a little too far from the tables! The washing machine and tumble dryer were free to use, which was great. Although the door to the tumble dryer had to be shut with a large box (although I believe this was in the process of getting fixed whilst I was there).

The beds were really comfortable, although I don’t think the lighting in the bedroom was working properly. They were small rooms, but fine for one night. You have to make your own bed, and clean your own room when you leave. It was really quiet, and I got a good nights sleep. The toilets and showers were in cubicles together.
 
Overall, you get what you pay for – a cheap, basic hostel. Don’t expect anything more.

Don't expect much

Got there after a 12 hour drive, tired and exhausted. There was a festival and a carnival right outside the door. Soundproofing from outside is pretty okay, could only hear the bass, but the people inside yelling in the hallways were harder to block out.

Otherwise you get what you pay for. Bring your own linens (sleepingbag without sheets are not allowed, although no one checks). No staff. Stairs, rooms and bathrooms not handicap friendly. Would not bring children. No windows (a curtain).  Small rooms with bunk beds (bottom is double). The rules say to take off your shoes, but there were lots of sticky goo on the floor from partiers in the hallway. Sand on bathroom floors (otherwise clean). Clean rooms (just don't look too hard at the bottom mattress).
