Full score for unique experience! You will probably find something to deduct a point for here and there, but if you go all in this will be an experience you remember. They serve amazing breakfast, but also dinner. Hot tip: ask for antipasti as a starter (there are no starters on the menu) you won't regret it. The drinks menu is on the slim side ... but just go with the flow and you'll have a great time.

A unique experience

Fantastic quiet place. Super friendly staff. Incredible good breakfast, the choice and quality is the best ever. Everything thing is home made and very tasty. The room in the separate house is very comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen and nice living room. There is a rowing boat available for a romantic trip to the lake.

- living at the castle was a special and enchanting feeling for us.
- the landlady was very friendly and had cute dogs welcoming all guests
- breakfast buffet was huge and exciting
- the bathroom offered a wonderful view onto the countryside
- room furnished in the old style though with modern and stylish bathroom
- sleeping quality was not so good - new matresses would be good
- overall a wonderful experience

A night in fairytale at the castle

We stopped to check out this Bed and Breakfast as we are having a visit from our parents soon. When we stopped in front of the house to see the owner came out yelling and swearing that this was private property and only "Norwegians behave like that!" My behavior included simply getting out of the car. I tried to explain we were potential customers without any luck. This man totally upset me and ruined my day! Stay far away from this B&B- especially if you are from Norway!!!!

 Very unfriendly!

it was like i was coming home, quiet nice place, fantastic view over tha landscape whit cows on the fields.
The breakfast is served in the castles kitchen and was very good, the owners are fantastic guestfree!

What a fantastic place!!!

An extremely pleasant place to stay. The owners are extremely nice and so are the two dogs who happily greet you every time you come into the premises. 
 As said by other reviewers, the guests stay at a small house about 20 meters from the castle itself, by a small river with great views of the fields and pastures that belong to the castle. The room we stayed in was in the upper floor of this annex. It was large and tastefully decorated (the original 17th century wooden floor planks have been used to dress a couple of the walls). The bathroom was simply appointed, but functional and 
everything worked. 
 I think I would miss a mosquito/bug net in the windows in order to be able to have them open without tiny monsters coming in. It was not a problem at this time of the year (May), but I can imagine one will want to have the windows open in the warmer months.
 Breakfast is served in the main building, in a very pleasant room. The options on offer are tasty and plenty for a good start of the day.

As opposed to what other reviews wrote, now there is wifi in the annex where guests sleep.

We decided to take this place instead of spending the night in a hotel in Mariestad, and this must have been one of our best decision ever. Mariestad itself is a short drive away, so it is easy to visit, but to spend the night in this place beats any hotel in town. There are tracks for walks along the lake and through the nearby forests.

I would strongly recommend that you stay here if you are in the area.

Great, simple and comfortable stay

Yesterday we stayed one night in one of the buildings belonging to the Borstorp Slott. The room was big and clean. The beds were pleasant and the views over the farm very nice. The hosts were very friendly, we had a nice chat and learned a lot about the castle and farm. Breakfast was fine. Nearby is a city with shops and restaurants.
