We booked a hotel package with Christmas buffet over the weekend. The food was absolutely amazingly good and well cooked with the care of local ingredients. 
The whole experience with the environment and the fact that we had a view of the canal from our hotel room made the stay perfect. 
The staff made the atmosphere in the hotel very familiar.

In the morning we took a long walk along the canal and the locks which were completely car-free.

A glorious Christmas treat

I stayed 1 night at the hotel. I arrived 9 pm. All doors were locked, but not to worry, just call the number on the door. I called several times, but no one bothered to answer. Finally a guest helped me to get in where I found some staff in the kitchen. After a long troublesome talk and phone call they finally accepted my booking, which was pre paid btw.
The room was OK. But an alarm from the kitchen was disturbing all night.
I was promised a sandwich for breakfast (left early) but nothing was to be found.
The hotel is great, but they should step up on their service and treat guest better. 

Nice hotel, poor service 

We arrived on a rainy Saturday afternoon in March to find the hotel staff waiting for us. And only for us, it turned out, since a conference group had cancelled. We got excellent service. Freshly brewed strong coffee, soft drinks for the children and homemade carrot cake was served as a treat. Our room was on the third floor. Tall tall ceilings and very clean. The lovely staff then prepared an evening snack for us to enjoy when coming home from the restaurant in the evening. And let’s not forget to mention the breakfast! It was probably the best I’ve ever had, I’m totally serious! when we came down to the breakfast room, the fire was lit and the table was set with the yummiest things: the coffee (I’m a coffee nerd and this freshly brewed was strong and perfect!), hot chocolate for the kids, freshly baked bread of various kinds, scrambled eggs with what I assume locally sourced bacon (so much more flavor than the supermarket kind), boiled eggs, very tasty ham, locally produced apple juice, fresh sprouts... and for afters: hot croissants with homemade raspberry chocolate spread and to-die-for chocolate truffles. Our 8 year old son wanted to move to Norrqvarn! Thank you so much! We’ll be back.

Lovely stay in Norrqvarn

I spent a  couple of  days  at  this  nice  facility " Norrqvarn Hotell & Konferens" the  last  two  days. The  facility is strategically   located on  the route  of " Göta Kanal" . It  is  very  nice  and  the  service  is  really  excellent  although  the houses  and  buildings  are rather  regular and  ordinary from  the  outside but the  food and  service  is  truely  five  stars. The whole  activity during  the  two  days  centered  about  work . It was  quiet  and apropriate for  the task.

A Work Conference

We had some wonderful days at the Norrqvarns. The first day we spent in the "tree stumps", which is really unique. The kids enjoyed it a lot. The downside is that there is not any 'aircon' and it was pretty hot in the night. We had two more nights in the hotel. Rooms are adequate for families. The only thing we missed were shelfs or cupboards in the room. The minikanal is a perfect playground for the kids. Staff was very friendly and food good. We will certainly come back.

Perfect summer stay

Stayed in the 'tree stumps' with another family i July.
The weather was not the best, but we and especially the kids enjoyed the mini Göta Kanal right beside the real thing and the lock @ Norrqvarn.

We did not try the restaurant, but it is cosy and the staff was very friendly.

The only downside is that the 'stumps' does not have a shower, only a toilette in the service stump. For a shower and kitchen you have to go to the main building.

So stay here for one night and then go somewhere else.
